Amanda Engle lives in a wonderfully crumbling house on a hill in a small town in Oregon. Where she wishes to live would be a place similar, though the house would be something resembling a Victorian mansion if she could have it her way. She loves anything to do with the Medieval, Victorian, Renaissance, Elizabethan, and plenty of other such eras, often times wishing she could have lived in many of them, though thankful to today’s technologies for computers, the World Wide Web, running water and the amazing invention of ice cream.

Amanda loves getting lost in her daydreams, and is oftentimes found hoping against hope that someday she’ll have her own happily ever after. This includes, but is not limited to: becoming a successful designer, writer, artist, photographer and woman, meeting the man of her dreams, settling down and having a wonderful and loving family, all wrapped up in the perfect dream home she’s always talking about having built someday.

Something else about Amanda is that she probably has an unhealthy habit and reliance on coffee and caffeine, and cannot begin her day without any. If she has not yet had her caffeine, watch out and back away because you will meet the Grouchy Amanda, and she is not fun to deal with, let me tell you. You have been warned.

Amanda has an illogical fear of calling people first or contacting them first in general. So if you want to talk to her, it’s better you make the first move instead of waiting around forever for her to make it. Even if she truly wishes to talk to you, in most cases she won’t go first. If she does by chance though, you should feel insanely special.

Amanda is a cat person through and through, and not a huge fan of dogs. She is justified in her fear and avoidance of them though, for she had quite a few bad run ins with neighbors’ dogs in her childhood. Her baby is Mackenzie, a beautiful tabby cat with extra toes and a stripy tail. She loves stealing Amanda’s water bottle caps and playing with them all over the house.

Amanda suffers from a very low self confidence, and this is the main reason for her shyness and true, unfathomable deep hatred of public speaking.

Whenever Amanda cleans her room, she always feels it needs to be rearranged and changed. Whether it be the bed moved to another wall, her large bookshelf moved to the other side of the room, or even a new color. This has happened time and time again, and so far does not look like it will be stopping anytime soon.

Amanda loves living in Oregon, and while it rains most days in the year, come the summer months she’s complaining about the heat and wishes she had a summer home in Antarctica. She suffers from a lack of not having AC and this could explain why she becomes a bit more irritable in the summer months.

Another thing to know about Amanda is she has a ludicrous fear of bees and wasps, and this causes her to avoid most outdoor activities. Just like the dogs though, this is justified.

Amanda spends most of her money on books, movies, anime, manga and art supplies. This is heavily shown in her cluttered room and all the books she owns and is constantly buying. This is the reason she is desperate for a job, but knows that she’ll still be broke when she has money, because she will spend it all on what is mentioned above. Hint hint…Borders, Craft Warehouse, or Michael’s would be the perfect places for her to work.

After her coming Senior year of high school, she plans to attend AI, the Art Institute of Portland for Media Art & Animation, though she has so many dang other interests and things she'd like to still pursue. She would also like to take some classes on writing for many of the stories she has cooking up inside her head.

Her friends will tell you that she is like a mother hen, and always prepared for just about anything. She readily carries band aids, Neosporin, a sewing needle & thread, and many other things in preparation for any disasters that could head her way.

Amanda secretly loves to have her hair played with and won’t object to being petted.

Amanda tends to be horrible at small talk and coming up wit things to chat about.

Amanda is the proud owner of a nighthawk pearl 2003 Honda EX. She’s so happy with him that she’s named him Zephyr Lancelot Hawke, and plans to refer to him as ‘her man.’

Amanda enjoys sarcasm and laughing. This will be quite evident if you talk to her.

Among things Amanda likes to do in her free time, but not all, is reading, watching anime, reading manga, drawing like crazy, painting, browsing the internet, making plushies/stuffed animals, and baking sweets.

Amanda likes collecting many things, such as movie tickets, anything with ducks, anything with dinosaurs, notes, rocks, TY beanie babies, and somewhat recently snow globes.

Amanda has a bag that has been through hell and back, and she keeps on reviving it by sewing it back up when it gets ripped. It has all kinds of buttons and key chains on it, and you usually hear her coming before you actually see her.

Amanda is quite aware that she is a nerd and geek, but she finds no problem with that. She loves watching the History Channel and reading just about anything informational. As long as is it doesn’t have to do with school, because then she finds it boring. She enjoys learning on her own time and not within the constraints of a school building and textbooks.

She plans on traveling someday to places all over the world. At the top of her list is Japan, Italy, France, Canada, South America, Australia, basically all of Europe…and many other places. This also brings up the fact that she would like to learn and be fluent in Japanese and French, and maybe Italian too, someday.

All in all, Amanda is a very silly girl with a bunch of quirks about her. She obsesses over the little details in life, adores the moon, and loves to believe in magic and things that seem unreal in life. She will always be there if you need her, and she loves all of her friends and family dearly.
