Gamescom is an annual event that highlights interactive games in Cologne, Germany. This year their press/industry day was held 13 August 2014. This particular day, press and industry members get a chance to see the convention before everyone else visiting the event.
We are glad to be able to visit Gamescom as press! There are so many cute games and apps that have been released and we’re quite excited to feature those on our photos (below). And we will also be featuring photos from the Cosplay village on our next post, so stay tuned.
Cute games at Gamescom:
- – Sims4
- – Lego Batman 3
- – Final Fantasy – TheatRythm Curtain Call
- – Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix
- – Little Big Planet 3
- – Super Smash Bros
- – Splatoon
Cool things to check out when you visit:
Business Center Halls 4&5: This is where you can find the ‘business’ side of the gaming industry. Many of the main exhibitors on the business center requires an appointment in order to get into their booth. There are also smaller exhibitors where their booths are available to see and check out their products. Open only 13 – 15 August 2014.
Entertainment Areas Halls 6, 7, 8, & 9: These are the halls for the ‘gaming/entertainment’ side. You can play different games from companies like EA, XBOX, Square Enix, Riot, etc. There are also other industries that showcases their products (computers, apps, shirts, etc.),
Cosplay Village Hall 10.1: An area for cosplay, this is where you get to see cool, unique and artistic costumes. There’s also an artist alley – art exhibits and workshops.
What I liked about being a press for Gamescom:
– Parking space for Press (near Hall 8 & 11)
– Press center for free wifi and work stations
– Press day (you get to see the convention before visitors, less crowded and less stressful)
– Access to business area
– Dates: Thursday – Sunday, 14 – 17 August 2014 (13 August for Press/Trade)
– Location: Koelnmesse GmbH Messeplatz 1, 50679 Cologne, Germany
