Well I've learned that if you've really got a sugar craving, just eat a small (emphasis on small!) amount of something sweet, and that'll take care of it. Sometimes in effort to get rid of sugar cravings we eat other food and end up eating too much, but are still left craving sweets! So I recommend simply eating a small handful of chocolate chips with a small glass of milk. Or something of that sort. That always works for me.
Nuts are healthy for you and give you a boost in energy. They're also high in protein.
Making fruit smoothies with milk (not ice cream) is a good snack. It's very filling, helps curb sugar cravings, and you can drink them on the go. They're good for breakfast or morning snacks, because they're light and don't leave you feeling heavy. You might try experimenting, like adding orange juice to a strawberry-banana mix, or something.
Drinking enough water helps curb your appetite. If we're thirsty, our bodies often mistake it for hunger.
Yogurt and granola is easy to make and good for you. You can also add fruit, such as strawberries and/or blueberries, and make a little parfait.
Sometimes fruit juice can stand-in as a little snack. Heavier juices, that is, like grape juice and orange juice.
My mom often makes an egg or two for a snack. She fries hers, over easy, in coconut oil (very good for you!), and sprinkles them with some black pepper and sea salt.
