Ok so one way or another i AM going to be blonde again by febuary but my current hair colour is dark ginger/auburn =/ it was a dark cherry red and i bleached it to a light ginger shade and then used a slightly darker ginger over the top to get rid of my white blonde roots but my hair is terrible for taking dye it washes out very quickly so over the past few months the build up of dye has made it quite dark again =___= i'm naturally blonde and really want to get back to my natural colour i can't afford to constantly dye my hair every 2 - 3 weeks =/ it grows really quickly and as i said the ginger washes out quickly too! but i've never tried getting my hair blonde from a dark colour without help before and even with help the last two times i tried this it went green twice and purple one time before that too so i'm really quite worried T__T my plan is to use about 3 - 5 boxes of non peroxide colour remover over 2 weeks and just not leave the house for a while then after that bleach, use a white toner and then finally give it another week and use some palty milk tea brown as it's more or less identical to my natural colour but i somehow doubt it's going to be that easy.....so if anyone has any advice on how to do this without completely destroying my hair pleaseee please please help!!

no i know =/ but i just can't stand having roots i was hoping if i do it over a few weeks it'll not be too bad and i can get a hot oil treatment once it's over but i still think it'll probably end up in a right mess =[ hopefully i'll be able to afford some nice extentions by then so if it's really damaged i'll have the nasty bits cut off =3 i just hope it isn't too bad T__T i thought there might be some tips floating around lots of people go from black to blonde without damaging it too badly i wish i knew how they do it!

You can always bleach it then use "Aussie" colour shampoo + 3 minute miracle that helps repair your hair

To avoid using too much harsh peroxide bleach I suggest using a colour stripper, there is one called ColourB4 which I have used, it's important to cleanse and rinse the hair properly though. Then afterwards it will be a bit patchy and gingery, use a light 'ash' blonde lightener, I've seen Garnier and L'oreal do these extra lightning dyes which are not pure bleach, get the lightest ash shade though. Afterwards you need to really take care of your hair, try to use as little heat as possible and a repairing treatment once a week! I recommend John Frieda miraculous recovery as it strengthens the hair. Hope this helps!

Ahh i've got some colour b4, a cheaper version of the same stuff and also some goldwell system colour stripper i'm hoping one of them will do the trick and get rid of some of the build up of dye =] how well did colour B4 work for you? do you have any before and after pictures? and if so could you pleasee do a post about it? i really want to see how well it works =]

Well my hair was almost black (dyed) when I used it (think I used the extra strength one) I didn't take any before and after pics :( I did it about 6 months ago, but it had dramaticaly changed the colour about 10 shades lighter, it was patchy though, my roots were light blonde and the rest was gingery blonde. It wasn't damaged at all though but I had to put an extra lightening dye over the top to try even it out, I think L'Oreal are pretty good for coverage but do get the lightest shade as I used medium ash blonde and it came out brown which I wasn't happy about... but after a few times using various extra lightening dyes it was really blonde and no ginger tone so it is possible!
