I believe it´s called "bitter-sweet lolita", isn´t it? Sort of sweet but dark, or so I´ve heard.

i belivie bittersweet is just sweet style in dark colors :S I find it hard to cross sweet and gothic in the same outfit.. would it be like pink with crosses?

I would say bittersweet is sweet lolita rather than a mix of sweet and gothic. Because a load of OTT sweet prints come in black and I think it would be nearly impossible to make them look gothic! It would be interesting to see somebody try it though.

i think you can, i mean it should be posible. i´ve been thinking about trying that too. i think that gothic lolita has less bows and cross so maby you can add more bows to a black/dark lolita dress and so on.

doesn't bows make it sweet? I don't associate black with gothic, black can be used in sweet just as well? I was thinking the only way to ever keep a gothic feeling would be to keep it stylistically pure without the prints and to much lace and frills, but than again, change the color would maybe turn it classic instead? Hmm... this was really tricky..

How about the typical black gothic outfit combined with a different type of headwear? Like lots of smaller bows and such like sweet ofteh use, but in dark colors? That could be interesting...

I don´t know, to me sweet is irrevocably linked to prints most of the time.....what you´re mentioning sounds to me more like...what was it..."kuro lolita"? Though I guess that that term could also be applied to an all-black sweet print outfit? Gah, how confusing.....

I've seen it done. It's sort of like a "grotesque-cute" motif. I've seen people wear black with pastels, and include dark, Hot Topic-esque accessories like eyeball bows (which you may have seen Kyary Pamyu Pamyu wear) or bat necklaces. Here's an example:
