Since lotsa people are learning ther languages~

What name do you use in other countries or when speaking other languages?

My chinese(m) name is 尹若雨 (Yin Ruo Yu) Ruo Yu means like rain. I made this name myself.

My korean name is 이유진 (Li Yu Jin) My boyfriend gave it to me.

I like to take a native sounding name rather then use my own. I think it's fun (plus my english name is hard to pronounce in those languages). Do you change your name or keep your original one?

Or do you have more then one name because of your family background?

Funny enough Kemeah کیمیا is the name I use for any interactions I have in Farsi, Dari, or Arabic; it means Alchemy in Farsi/Dari and Chemistry in Arabic (I didn't pick the name it was given to me, yet oddly fits.)

My friends that speak Chinese always just called me Mei Mei 妹妹 or little sister. (No I don't speak Mandrin, I just know enough words to sound cute)

I have to agree it makes the converstion flow alot better if you are using a native alias, My English/Celtic name just doesn't really fit.

I tried to work on strokes and things for my name, but the information I could find on it was all in Chinese. And my level is no where close to that sort of level TT

I need some chinese grandparents hehe.

Your last name is pretty uncommon too I guess? You're the only 谢 I've met.

@Kemeah

That's a really cool name~ I agree it suits you quiet nicely.

Now we know more about 2 users usernames too XD what a coincidence.

My name is Kirie-lea Cussen. I don't think it can be translated at all.

Cussen is irish. Kirie (named after opera singer Kiri but mum added an e) and Lea means meadow XD but apparently i sound like a folk singer!

Well, in Japan I go by the name my father gave me, coupled with his surname.

佐伯、理恵(さえき、りえ)-Saeki, Rie. "Rie" means "blessed with logic" , which I doubt applies to me in actuality.

Speaking of Japanese surnames, ours, I'm proud to say, is quite rare. You can usually tell where your family originated just by the characters of your last name-well, at least this is the case with Japanese.

For example, someone with the last name (もり)"Mori",which means forest...you can probably guess that's the geographical reigion where their ancestors came from.

Our family, the Saeki family. according to history, were a large clan known for having the most vocal of fighters, and for being quite ferocious in battle.

If I was back in the U.S., I'd go by Lea, but I'd still keep my Japanese surname.

According to my ex-boyfriend, I was his Em, which is just a cute way to say 'sweet-heart' in Vietnamese; not sure if that counts at all...

My actual name is Anna, which is a name that has been used in a lot of European nations and also Russia. I was actually named it after the Hebrew Anna, though. It means "grace" or "graceful" or "gracious", which really suits me well.
My surname is Davis, which is somewhat of a common name in America, I think.
One of my Korean friends gave me the Korean name Ji-Hyae, which means "wisdom".
I don't actually have a Japanese name, but one of my friends calls me Narinaki after a character of the same name I created. But I wouldn't actually go by that name in Japan, because I actually just made the name Narinaki up.
