whoops, i accidentally deleted my first post. grr x{ lol.. okay let's try it again then x/... SO!~ yesterday 12/01/09 i made myself up in ganguro style for a presentation on Ganguro, manba, and yamanba for my public speaking class. i like to spread my asian fashion love to the masses no matter how little when i can: Lol. x]

well, i rushed it. i didn't use a guide for my makeup nor did i use/have the proper makeup for it. i dont own any concealers that are much darker than my natural skin tone (though i dont mind because i dont want to offend anyone in a racial way, although to me it's quite the opposite and an emphasis on my desire to want to kind of look like a person of a different race than my own actual one--a compliment, in fact, to others...), nor do i own any solid, good eye makeups...so, yeah.. i pretty much winged it. what do you think?

i spoke to my class a bit about ganguro, manba, and yamanba. theyve never heard of it before. of course. im in a mostly unworldly college. some of the girls in my class gave me positive comments on my look...after being informed on it. they liked the light lipstick color (which was actually a light ivory concealer stick applied over my lips with white powder eyeshadow liberally applied on top of that), which i agree with. i like the tanned with light makeup look for the opposite contrast, which i think most girls look for. kind of like the opposite of smokey eyes. thats my preference, but everyone's different. for instance, some girls--the few i looked up at for their expressions--who looked at me were taken aback with an offended look. i mean, they genuinely looked as if i insulted them by looking different or something. these girls are all from the same plastic-molds. but that's a different story.

what do you think of my look? did i pull it off somewhat? lol. ehh well give me feedback and whatever. x] Do you like Ganguro? how about Manba and/or Yamanba? i do ^_^ i heart the ganguro gyaru look. sometimes i wanna be a Ganguro Gal *u*~ heheh... well, hope you like! and, well, tell me what you think? thanks!

after trying this look for the first time yesterday, i see where the stereotype that ganguro girls are not very well like up-there with hygiene. lol. cause i had to scrub my face off. like taking a layer of ur face off. lol.

its definitely interesting and trying it gives you lots of insight into it u wouldn't get otherwise, i think. when i first showed my sis this style and told her how i like it, she told me that if i ever do it, she'd kill me. LOL. i told her about it and showed her pics and, guess what? she didn't kill me. XD not only that, but she liked it!

she laughed at me in amazement--she and her/also my friend Betty said i pulled off the look, surprisingly, and my sis told me while laughing hysterically at me over the phone (i called her on my cell so that i didnt have to make eye contact when walking back to my dorm looking like that and i told her that. rofl. that amused her, to say the least--she even had to get Betty in on it when i told her that's why i had called her haha) that wow i'm "ballsy" (ew pardon my sister's not so eloquent speech, hahah; meant that i have a lot of gall and some big kind of weird confidence to be able to go out like that in public and put myself out there like that, looking different and like, well, THAT)... uhm.... moral of story = Lol ? xD!!~   . . . . .   hope you enjoyed. roflrofl. hahaha yeaahh...i didn't think i looked like a good ganguro when i smiled. lol. :D i love ur capitals "OMG" reaction ;D xD. haha~ it only took like 20-30 min cause i rushed it and messed it up a few times in my rush lol. it does seem difficult to do, thats why i havent tried the real thing either yet. plus i dont think id get a very good reaction to the real deal. lol. thanks! i have some cool hair clip-ins that are a good length and are nice colors. 8) glad i made that work. ;) sorry but the picture you posted doesnt work :( so i dont know what u mean x( can u maybe repost it please? sry, thanks ^^...oh, nope, i didnt wear heels, though it is common for ganguro/manba to wear platforms; i only wore sneakers cause i didnt go for the entire look, just the general makeup and style. i couldnt even find anything bright colored enough in my closet in my dorm at the time to wear for the style lol. i really just threw the look together and ran out the door so i wouldnt be super late to class actually so yeah XD...

oh, yes, it is! subtle but still obvious ganguro so it still has the shock factor hehe. ;)
