Here are some films by the famous japanese director Hayao Miyazaki and his Studio Ghibli company :)

Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi
Spirited away
This movie is about Chihiro who against her will have to move to a new city with her family. On the way there they get lost and Chihiro and her family ends up in a city of spirits and gods. To get there was easy, but to get out of there..? A wonderful adventure with many strange characters to love!

Hauru no ugoku shiro
Howl's moving castle
One of my absolute favorit movies! The main character's name is Sofie and works as a milliner until one day when a witch throws a spell on her and she becomes an old old woman. Sofie struggling forward with bent back and aching bones to somehow break the curse. On her journey, she meets the wizard Hauru [v], the apprentice Mark and firedemon Calcifer that keeps the castle moving.

My favorite movie of all times!!!!! Ever!!! Tatsuki and May are two sisters who together with their father moves into an old house on the countryside. We follow the sisters' adventures with the forest king Totoro! They also met on the cat bus! A wonderful and loving film!

Majo no takkyûbin

Kiki is a 13 year old witch and it's time for her to say goodbye to her friends and family. She's going away for a year to work and get new experiences, it's tradition among the witches. In the new town Kiki starts a delivery company. Kiki flies on her broom with her cat and deliver packages! But being a 13 year old witch is not always easy. Especially when her witchcraft gets weakened.

Haru is a high school girl who recues a cat from being run over by a car. The cat turns out to be prince of the kingdom of cats and all cats want to reward Haru.  But haru is not very happy about the gifts the cats give to her... The cats invite her to their kingdom where she will receive their final gift. She will marry the cat prince! Haru is seeking help from the Baron and Muta (two cats) and it will be an exciting adventure to get out of cat king's huge plans plans for Haru!

After being bitten and cursed  by a wild boar demon, Ashitaka leaves the village to try to break the curse. We follow his journey into the deep woods of the gods. There he meet the wolf god, and its child (a woman!). The forest is in the middle of a war between the gods and the people who are trying to devastate the forests. Ashitaka fight for both sides trying to protect both humans and gods.

Kurenai no buta
Porco Rosso
Porco Rosso is the name of our hero in this movie. A cursed pilot with a pig's head and he's now freelancing by catching air pirates To his help he got a little girl called Fio who really knows how to build a plane!

Tenkû no shiro Rapyuta
Castle in the sky
The legend tells us about an island that floats in the sky. Sheeta, Pazu and lots of air pirates are off to see if the legend of Laputa is true.

Kaze no tani no Naushika
Nausicaa of the valley of the wind
On earth, war between humans and insects and poisonous forests spread. Nausicaa is the princess of the Valley of the wind. She is trying to create peace between insects and humans.

Hotaru no chin
Grave of the fireflies
Japan is at war, and two orphans are left alone. The fourteen-year-old boy and his little sister is fighting for survival against hunger, disease and the misery that war brings. A very terrible film with lots of tears but also plenty of brother and sister love.

A girl is trying to live up to all expectations, but then she falls in love with a boy and she decides to write a book instead. 

Gake no ue no Ponyo
Ponyo by the cliff by the sea
While little Sosuke plays by the cliffs by the sea he finds something he believs is a goldsfish. He call her Ponyo and let her live in a bucket. But Ponyo has magical powers and gets so facinated by the life of the humans she wants to be a human and stay with Soske forever. However Pony has a family in the sea and Ponys father want her back.

Gedo Senki
Tales from Earthsea
Dragons appears in the human world and the balance in the world is about to collapse. Prince Arren kills his father and flees from home. The great wizard Haitaka saves him from hungry wolfs and Haitaka brings him on his journey. However Arren livs in fear, hate and melancholy in this broken world.

It's so hard to pick a favorite! But I think mine is Totoro :)

I have a hard time picking a favorite, but, I think it would be Howl's Moving Castle. I loved that film, it was so beautiful to me. I want to buy the Studio Ghibli box set too, so I can watch all of the Ghibli films, I think I've only seen about 5(and Ponyo was adorable X3).

I know, i love them all too ^^ A box set sounds great! I've been thinking about buying one for my sister, four movies in one box is cheaper than buy two one and one! ^^ However I've already start collecting them one at a time so I'll keep going with that ^^ Got about eight movies and have two more to buy soon :)

I was going to get a boxset too but you can easily get each one on Amazon for $5 each, which isn't so bad. But I would like a Japanese boxset. ^^

Ponyo is so cute! I've only watched it once and that was a while ago. I so wanna see it again! I think it just got released at Bluray/DVD here in Sweden! Must buy! ^^

Miyazaki is like the  Walt Disney of Japan. It's hard to just pick one movie!!!

I love:

~Howl's Moving Castle, two words Christian Bale <3 <3 <3

~Graveyard of the Fireflies got my boyfriend and I bawling like babies!

~Whisper's of the Heart, it's such a gentle normal movie.

~Ponyo wasn't exactly as good as some of his older movies, but it had a sweet story behind it.

~Kiki's Delivery Service was one of my firsts, and it was so awesome!

Bought Ponyo yesterday!! Oh, I think it's my new favorite!!!  I liked it much more the second time i saw it :)

I love everything!! The characters are amazing!! And the humor makes me laugh It's such an exciting movie ^^ If you haven't watched it already, do it! :D

they all rock, my mom used to be a great fan of it since I was little =D
