i have no idea whats going on but i came across this petition . i have a slight idea of what its saying but i feel like its not giving me enough information. can anyone explain this to me, does anyone else know more information? i feel a bit threatend by whats apperantly going to happen to the internet here in the U.S. ...

How would you even monitor something as vast as the internet? It's impossible.

And besides that, people care about their porn too much for it to pass.

I think there are internet laws in China ...

I signed it anyway but you would think if this was genuine, there would be wider publicity.

It´d be rather terrible if it were true.....I´ve heard about it from another blog as well. It probably won´t get voted in, but just the possiblity of Internet in the US being censored like in China....is pretty horrifying, because that´d mean that it might be able to expand to Europe.

It's true actually. The right wing is really pushing a bill like this that could censor the internet and actually shut a lot of sites down based on it's contents. There are a lot of petitions floating around and people have been writing it. It was even on the news the other day....

So...it's a big deal, potentially.

idk if its real and if it is ive hardly heard about it, i even watch the news and not a smidge of this was mentiond. but if it is i dont think they will pass it, it goes against the WHOLE first amendment thing.

i dont think they have the money and time to back this thing up. were tight on funds as it is...
