I used to keep the packaging for lots of things. Especially cellphone charms and candy wrappers... Then I saw the show 'hoarders' so I threw them all out. I had about four or five shoeboxes worth =_=
But it still lives on. I keep stuff like gift bags and when I get letters from people I keep the envelope.

I collect a lot of things, even though some of the collections are quite small due to the expense.
Rocks: I have a lot of rocks...not just plain ones, but some really pretty ones, ones from special places I've been, some I've bought in stores. I had so many my mom made me sort through them and get rid of some of them. But I still have a lot. I've been collecting them for as long as I can remember.
Masquerade masks: I only have two, because they're at $15 to $25 a mask. But I just love them! They're so beautiful and enigmatic. I keep them hung on my wall.
Ticket stubs: I keep all the movie tickets, concert tickets, game tickets, and any other tickets I get. I keep them all in a big picture frame. It's like a bunch of memories in one picture. I've been collecting them for about two years, so I have quite a bit.
Fortune cookie papers: I keep all of them! Even if it's one that I've got before. There's just something funny about them. They make my day a little better and make me smile, even though I know they're silly. I have a lot of them! I keep them all in an upside-down big seashell right now, until I find a frame to put them in.
Feathers: I love them! I keep them in picture frames. I don't know that you can buy them at all, but I like the feel of knowing I found it somewhere, anyway. I just pick them up whenever I find them.
Cute clothes tags: I don't have many (a lot accidentally got thrown away a while back) but I have a few Bean Pole Jeans tags. I want more, but, well that comes with clothes, and those are bought with money, and I don't have a lot of that =_=
Soundtracks: I MUST have the OSTs from all my favorite anime series, movies, and video games! Also I collect all official versions of the FFVII track "One Winged Angel" by Nobuo Uematsu.
Old and classic books: I love getting old books from antique stores, but only books that I like. I recently found The Hound of Baskerville (Sherlock Holmes), and I'm on the hunt for an old copy of Pride & Prejudice.

My main thing I actually "collect" is fans as many of you know. But I do have two silly collections...or at least they aren't something most would expect. *blushes deep red* I collect Power Ranger movies and everything Scooby Doo(mostly movies) I can't help myself...and I know they're both mainly for kids...but I can't help it!!!! lol so there is my confession! lol

does receipt counts? hahaha.. Its not really a collection but I kinda forget / or im hesitating to throw them sometimes... 2 years ago was my biggest receipt collection that I had 4 shoe boxes full of them hahaha

I always keep the shopping bags of really expensive stores that I have bought from. It a very strange habit. I never throw them away!! 

Buttons. I have an unreasonable amount of buttons.

I wish I could give you my mom's collection! She has SO many buttons and doesn't use them for anything, just keeps them in glass jars. It would be so cute if you made something with them!

I have a 1/4 franc, but, I don't know where that is from. I found it at junior high school when i was little. I have a lot of canadian coins. USA stores and banks don't like forn coins. It can return into the govenment system for what is worth.

I have a collection of blankets, bed clothes and shoes. I still use them. I do collect a lot of anime and video game character plush toys, figurines and etc.
