Okay. So i asked this same question on my lolita facebook community. I was thinking about this earlier and it really hurts my brain a bit. Why is it when bodyline does great shipping deals like they are now does some lolita's stick up their nose and refuse to buy from them cause they aren't known as a brand like AP and BTSSB. I mean come one. 1.oo for shipping. That means you get as much as you can afford and ship it to you for a 1.oo. But no since they aren't considered a brand like said above the idea of buying from them is ridiculus. Are you kidding. I don't get it. Especially since being lolita isn't cheap. Brand isn't cheap. And one does have to save up to get a nice brand. But you also have to take in consideration of bills, housing, rent, cellphone, and food. How do you pass up such a deal just beacuse it isn't know as brand to you yet. My brain hurts. 

Well, tastes are tastes. If they don´t like Bodyline, they don´t have to. It´s just when they get snobbish in the sense that they look down on you for wearing Bodyline that you have to watch out.

Personally, I don´t think you can compare brand quality with Bodyline quality (I own both brand and Bodyline pieces, by the way). But you´re absolutely right--brand prices also can´t compare with bodyline prices. Bodyline is oodles cheaper.

Though nowadays, with the rise in Bodyline prices, some things almost cost the same as buying secondhand brand, sometimes.... when faced with that, I´ll go with brand, if it´s decent secondhand.

I´m definitely going to check out the boots section on the site, though, they´ll be worth buying with that cheap shipping price.

If they want to be brand snobs then let them and you can have the 1 dollar shipping deal and still feel great in your lolita :) 

I am actually having the opposite reaction right now. I saw Metamorphose were doing an Autumn lucky pack for 15000yen and the goods inside are worth over 50000yen but after seeing the example pictures, I don't want it!

My main reason for not buying from Bodyline this month is that even though they have lowered the shipping, they have upped the prices on loads of their items.

Yeah, i totally agree, the items are getting more expensive so free shipping isn't really that big bargain... they just try to make people belive that so people will buy loads of their products.

=.= I agree as well.....I hate it when brands or stores of any kind try this sort of thing.

I shop Bodyline when I can afford it. I like some of their items and I like that you can get the basics for fairly low prices. So I think with how Bodyline is raising their prices, if you want to get something, now is the time do it when you don't have to worry about shipping. 

Some people simply don't like Bodyline. I know a lot of older Lolitas stick their nose up at it because Bodyline used to be a fetish shop before they started selling Lolita clothes too and I guess for some people that stigma just hasn't worn off yet.

Some people just overall prefer brand, so even if Bodyline is cheaper they don't like it. I won't buy something just because it's cheap. I have to like it as well.

@Luna_Rain and others: I bought some things on the 1$shipping sale and during the 5$ and the 10$ shipping sale the prices of the items i bought went up with 2 - 4 €. But yes on some of the others items the prices went up for the 1$ sale.

I like bodyline, some items are really lovely. My fav piece is a bodyline skirt (romantic rose in wine). But I can really compare with brand dresses because the only brand I have are accessories.

I use to love BL but now @_@ even then my parents thought bl was expensive at times so I have to quit lolita for a while now. I hate it D:< Why can't loli be cheaper!!!!!

Personally, while I own items from Bodyline that I still wear, I find paying the extra money for brand is more satisfying. The dress designs are better, more detailed, and more unique. There's also the obvious issue of quality. Often times, even if I like a Bodyline dress, when I actually see it in real life the fabric looks thin and cheap, or the lace is weird. 

I definitely understand why people would buy Bodyline instead, especially if you aren't sure just how much you like wearing lolita. However, I would rather own one really nice brand dress than three Bodyline dresses I'm not as crazy about.
