Grown up lolita?
Yes, I know, I know. But seriously, are there any equivalent choices if you'd like to look more like a grown-up woman? The lolita fashion, to me, is clearly very inspired by the child fashion of ~mid 19th century, while I'd like to get a few tips on a more grown-up style with longer skirts. I'm not too comfortable with skirts ending above the knee, and actually, I'd rather it went down over half my calf.

I really hope I'm not offending anyone with this, I'm just slightly curious, and since everyone here seems very knowledgeable, and I'm way too lazy to google this, halp plizz!

"It's all in my head" I said, banging a piano
'I've not been so alone' I thought, 'since kicking in the womb'
I drank so much tea, I wrote my letters in kanji
Around the block I walked, and walked,
pretending you were with me...

maybe styles with less prints? one solid color?

or maybe just a solid color with a print on the bottom.

As our predessasors said, Miracle is Dead.

I think that Mori fashion may be more down your alley. It's sort of like a mix of lolita and bohemian, if you're not familiar with it.

I grant wishes

Some classic Lolita brands feature longer length JSKs and dresses with more subtle colors and very nice prints. It's a lot more toned down, but still retains the "Lolita" feel of it. Maybe something that an older girl in that era would wear, as opposed to the frilly frocks of the younger set.

maybe this thread can be somewhat helpful: http://www.myasianfashion.com/forums/display_topic/id_4830/A-more-grown-up-style/

grown up lolita is normally classic like many girls suggested, if you however feel to old for lolita in general it might be a good idea to leave the petticoat and wear less stuff in you hair and such. Less prints and more solid colors are def great, like neko suggested.

Last post on first side is close to what I'm looking for.

My biggest problem is the skirts being too short, I don't mind all the frills and lace and all that, I think it's nice! I just want to cover my knees and half my calfs. xD

Mostly it's 'cause I'm not built to show my legs. My upper body is much slimmer than my lower body, and if I wear knee-length skirts it looks like two tree-trunks are sticking out underneath.
Luckily, my ancles are thin, so as long as half my calfs are covered it looks nice.

Also, having a kid's made me want to look a little older. Not granny-old, but you know... I don't want to be the mom kids make jokes about, saying I think I'm 15. :(

Yeah, I get it. You could check out ameliecafe's threads. They're about longer skirts and dresses with some pictures, links and design suggestions.
