use a foundation brush or a makeup triangle for good blending

the good brushes are a little expensive but a packet of makeup triangles are about 5 at a drugtore

As our predessasors said, Miracle is Dead.

I use liquid foundation and a make up triangle (as neko_carnival said) and blend it well. I also go over it with some light powder. It works nicely for me.

Don't use it! I used to get lots of pimples on my forehead and tried to cover them. It only made it worse. I never use foundation or base makeup unless I'm getting pictures taken, and I hardly get spots now. It could just be a horomone thing, if the pimples appear normal then I'd say leave them and see if it blows over.

If you are going to use foundation use a loose powder not a cream since your skin is oily. Use a clean brush (you have to be careful cause brushes can be a bacteria breeding ground. Put them in indavidual plastic bags before putting them in your makeup bag. Make sure to shake them off after use). Try not to use sponges on your oily parts. The ore you touch the oily parts of your face the more oil you'll make. Get some foundation on your brush and lightly tap some off before applying to your face.

Can't help with the second question though.

I used to be spotty, and the more make-up I used the worse it became. I swapped to cover stick during a very-little-spots-period and it got better. Of course it went away the older I got, and today I only get one or two ocationally, and I use

a coverstick from Max Factor. It's about 15$ here, I'd say, and you get the really light colour too, without the orange tint.

Just try to stay away from total-covering things, it just makes it a lot worse 'cause it dams up the pores and causes more spots.
Maybe you'd want to try out a range of different soaps instead. I'd reccomend something with coconut fat, 'cause oily skin tends to flake at times too, and it won't worsen the oily parts, but still help and better the flaking.
Sunshine and fresh air is also good. :)

Though, I know how hard it is to stop trying to cover up things you're not happy with. :(

"It's all in my head" I said, banging a piano
'I've not been so alone' I thought, 'since kicking in the womb'
I drank so much tea, I wrote my letters in kanji
Around the block I walked, and walked,
pretending you were with me...

You can get make-up which supposedly has anti-bacterial spot fighting ingredients in them. I have never tried any but it might be worth looking in to.

Eco friendly make-up and covergirl oil fighting make-up. I use cover girl foundation(powder) and their compact base powder. It works really well and helps with my oily skin.Plus it's not super exspencive and all.

Yes, go for a light powder and don't worry so much about full coverage. Coverup is made for hiding minor imperfections, but a pimple isn't really an 'imperfection' it's inflamation on your face. You shouldn't concern yourself with trying to hide it so much as you should focus on trying not to irratate it. And if there are scars and things you'll never be able to cover them up (ask my forehead) so minimizing infection is key.

Acne SHOULD go away if you leave it alone, if it doesn't you need to talk to a doctor.

What I use is mac loose powder with a brush. And like I said, it's only for pictures or if I have major bags under my eyes.

Also another tip, if you are like me your skin might be reacting to the soaps you're using. I used to over wash or use too strong products on my face. Examining what products you're using might help. ^^ best of luck

I'm going to paste in my post about BB cream & some good drugstore foundations from another thread, if you don't mind~ (I just didnt want to have to type it all over again ^^;; I did add in some new info as well, tho) You should be able to get most of these products in the UK as well, esp the e.l.f. studio brushes. All of the foundations I recommended here have pretty decent coverage (because personally I can't stand foundation that doesn't "do anything" haha!). You can also get more coverage in specific areas by using a good concealer. I like Rimmel's Match perfection concealer (comes in a tube), Maybelline Dream Mousse concealer (comes in a glass pot), and Revlon's Photoready concealer (comes in a stick form).

Quote:

I love to use BB cream, which is a kind of foundation mulitasker that is really popular in Asia! Prices vary -- some are very affordable and some are very expensive. But the affordable ones are not bad. I use BB cream everyday, almost exclusively, aside from one American foundation. They are great, because they have several functions, depending on the kind you get. In addition to covering imperfections, they may also have effects involving brightening/whitening (which can help fade acne scars), SPF, oil-control, moisturizing, anti-aging, color-correction (for reducing redness). Some are even just good for your skin overall (like the MISA Cho Bo Yang bb cream, which has herbal extracts).

If you are interested in some BB cream recommendations, let me know!

Otherwise, there are a lot of good drugstore options available!

For instance, right now I use Revlon Colorstay. It comes in two formulas -- one for dry skin and one for oily/combination skin. It stays on for a really long time! The bottle says 16hrs. I have tested at school+work it for about 13 hrs and it's amazing. You can get a really natural looking finish, especially when you use a dampened cosmetic sponge wedge to apply it. It's probably one of the pricier drugstore foundations available -- I got mine for about $13 for the bottle, but it seems like it will last a while, as you don't need to use a lot each time. It's also got buildable coverage, so if you happen to need more coverage sometime, you can get it with this foundation.

Aside from the dampened cosmetic sponge wedge, you can also apply it very nicely with a stippling brush or a stiff powder brush. I like the brushes from the e.l.f. studio line. They are only $3 each (and you can find them at Target) and they work very well. I don't suggest the $1 elf line for brushes (the white brushes), because they are very cheap quality. e.l.f's studio line brushes (the black brushes) are much, much better quality!

Another drugstore foundation I liked was the Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse. It has a cream to powder finish, so it goes on really easily and gives a nice smooth finish. This foundation is somewhat cheaper, but you also get less. It's best applied with cosmetic sponge wedge, not a brush. You can also use your fingers in a pinch (but always use hand sanitzer first!)

I've heard a lot of good things about Rimmel Lasting Finish as well, but I haven't tried it myself.

I have oily/combination skin. Foundation to AVOID if you have this kind of skin is the Rimmel Stay Matte. Even though it's called "Stay Matte", it will just make your skin look super greasy after a few hours. NOT GOOD. Also, the N.Y.C Color powder foundation is utter crap.

Most foundations last longer and look better if you set them with a light dusting of loose powder. My favorite powders are from Korean companies (again, if you'd like more info, let me know), but I'm also liking the Sonia Kashuk loose powder from Target. It's not too expensive, $9, and it comes in different shades including translucent. I have one of the non-translucent shades, so that if I happen to tan a little and my foundation isn't a great match, I can tone down the difference a little with the powder.

Hope this helps!

1. wash face with a gentle srcub (to get dryed skin and exssses oil off)
2. Lotion up, oil free.
3.use a green base over red areas.
4. Use whatever item you want to spread you foundation on. I always use my finger, because the sponges soak up to much foundation and money(buying new sponges, using to much foundation, etc).
