While reading the hairstyle-ideas-thread I thought about some problems I have with my hair and my fight to solve them.So I considered a thread about hairy problems to be nice Like "My bangs are never straight", "in winter my hair is fuzzy" and so on.... I am sure that most of us have these problems and probably some have tips, so let's share these! If there is a thread like this, I will put my question there! So here it comes: My hair is a little longer than my shoulders and as it grows, it starts to "knot" in the neck. I cannot comb it and have to tear them apart.... I tried anti-frizz-spray but nothing helps...

I get the same problem with the knotting. It really hurts and it is hard to get a brush through them.

I never have problem with that D: You do use conditioner right?? Just to make sure (because I know someone who didn't know this.) but you have to leave your conditioner on your hair for at least 5 minutes for your hair absorb the conditioner. Also, use a comb instead of a brush and when you brush your hair, split all your hair to 2 sides like you would when you're tying a pigtail, then start combing each side from the the middle of your hair down. After you've done both sides, THEN start combing top to bottom. It's better to comb your hair like this and this is how I comb mine, if I just start combing from top to bottom and without spliting my hair into two sides, it would hurt so much >

No, my hair is not curly, just a little "wavy". I also use conditioner but I have to try the combing technique! And I have to buy a comb. Do you use a plastic one?

It could be split ends :o I also have this problem so I put oil on my hair that supposebly keeps it from knotting. It helps a lot :> I've also noticed when I wear hoodies the back of my hair turns into a huge knot. Oh yes, and word from the wise: Try not to brush or comb your hair WHILE it's wet, this is supposebly when your hair is at it's weakest state and brushes just pull at the elasticity of the shaft and damage your hair a great deal. I still put leave-in conditioners in my hair, but I wait until it's dry before I comb it through.

I don't think this is a "problem" however I might as well ask... I have very little hair just above the temples. I have hair, it's just that it doesn't grow. My hair is only a a few centimeters long in just that area. Is there anyway I can make it grow normal like the rest of my hair?

Hm, I have that same situation, Zeruda. I really have no idea if that hair ever really grows more than that.....
@Viochan: My problem is, I *have* to comb it while it´s wet. If I do that, I can quickly comb through it with barely any tangles and/or effort or tugging. If I let it dry before combing it....my hair turns into one giant knot (yes, even though I use conditioner). I can literally stick a comb in it and it will stay. =.= So I just have to comb it really carefully as soon as I get out of the shower. And to think that my hair is actually straight but can do feats like that..... XD LoL

About the hair above the temples...I'm sitting here trying to figure out how long my hair is there (I'm literally pulling on the ends to try to measure it lol). But I'm not sure I know exactly where you're talking about. Is there any way you could show a picture of the spot?
@ Viochan: Yep, just like LaiaMoon said, comb it out while it's still wet! This is very vital, because if you don't, it'll dry in knots like you said. Don't go very long between washes - I'd say 2 days, tops. The less you wash (and thus comb) your hair, the more knots will develop.
I guess if I have a hair problem, it's just trying to make my hair grow faster! I'm trying to grow it out really long, but it's only above my chest right now (in length).

That hair that doesn't grow out is called "baby hair". Everyone has it, I also do so don't worry about it.
My hair "problem" is in my opinion really horrible! I lose like 25 hairs while showering my hair and cause of that I'm getting really scared! I'm scared of losing it all. Does anyone have tips or so? :(
