I know a girl. She got trouble with every thing ever imaginable. She visits doctors, psychologists and all of it. And she's still crying because no one is ever able to help her. Some of them tries to help her, they give her a name to the so called disease and gives her another medicine. She cries even more because the medicine doesn't help and she's still sad, feeling sick and want to die. Some of the doctors and psychologists just sigh and say she's a hopless case. She's crying even more.
But the thing is - nothing is really wrong with this girl. She just believes that, and some of the doctors let her belive it because they think it would be better for her to have a name on the uncomfortable feelings she's having.
I think this is a very common problem.
She want someone to help her, but they can't help her because she have to help herself first.
This girl is so trapped in herself she can't find her way out. Because someone said she's a hopless case she belives it to the fullest. Just because someone said she can't read or calculate she belives she can't do it. Just because her strength is fading she belives she have a serious illness in her muscles, but the truth is she's not living healthy. Just because she found a lolidress that was too small for her she imagines herself that she had to develope an eating disorder as an effect.
But none of this is real.
Maybe you know about this situation. Maybe you've been there, maybe you know someone who is in a situation just like her.
If you run for about 15-30 minutes every day, raise you pulse and breathing fast a depression will be 30% better, just like that. If you eating healthy on top of that, regular and good food then you will feel better, no doubt about it. The more you exorcise, the more energy you will get. The less you move, the less you will be able to do.
If you belive to the fullest that you're sick and can't do anything then you're right. But if you do as me, PROVE THEM WRONG, you will be right too. You WILL prove them wrong.
I can't calculate. I use my fingers even for the most simple addition. Multiplication is my limit and everything beyond is hell. But I have still had jobs that included counting dates, reading serial numbers and so on, and I did very well. BUT I had to belive I could do it and i had to TRY. I don't have half of the concentration left as i had when i was 15, but it doesn't mean I can't read a book. I can IF I TRY. It might be harder than before, but I can still do it.
This girl gave up school when she just had one year left, because it was to much physic work. Instead of just train and try harder. No doctor has even found anything wrong with her muscles, but if they watched her habits they would found a liter of chocklate milk in her stomach and no food. She doen't understand that. No doctor or psychologist has ever told her either. So she cuts her wrists to get even more attention, to tell the world "please help me". But the thing is, you have to help yourself first. You can't spending you life blaming a parent who treated you wrong as a kid for who you became, you can't blame the teachers for you bad grades or the friends who let you down for being social incompetent. it's still YOUR LIFE. YOU CAN DO IT. It's your life. You can choose to NOT cut yourself, instead of blaming your sisters for leaving the razorblades in the bathroom. It's not her fault. It's you. If you wanna change your life, do it. It's not cosmates fault that you do not eat properly, it's not the doctors fault they can't find a discease that does not exist.
The doctors should not give medicine to a person they cant give a proper diagnosis to. He said she is clealy not suffering from manodepression, yet he gave her medicine for that illness. This girl KNEW that, yet she swallowed the medicine. I would never do that. Never. Because I can do better. After 12 weeks she's not feeling better. I would have stopped already after the second or third week. Everything else is useless. You cant lay you life in someone else hands. It's YOUR LIFE. You need to tell them you are not a subject of an experiment.
You know. The winner always have a soulution of the problem, while the loser always sees a new problem. You can think the doctors and psycologist is nuts, doing wrong things and saying wrong things, I totally agree, but you're a part of it as well. The doctor has a responsibilty to explain to you how the medicine works, but if he doesn't it's your responsibilty to ask - beacause you want to know how this works and will effect you. You need to coorporate instead of expecting everyone else to fix your life for you, cus that won't happen. You have to act like an adult and take responsibility of your own life.
You can do it - if you want to. Stop blaming everyone else. People are trying to help but you have to do something too.
At last i want to share to examples. The first is a story about frog I read once. The second is a true story i heard on the radio. Once upon a time there was a race of frogs. The goal was to reach the top of a high tower. Many people gathered to see and support them. The race began. In reality, the people didn't believe that it was possible that the frogs would reach the top of the tower, and all the phrases that one could hear were of this kind: "What pain!!! . They'll never make it!" The frogs began to doubt themselves. The people continued: "... What pain!!! They'll never make it! ..." And the frogs, one by one, admitted defeat, except for one frog that continued to climb. At the end he, alone, and with and enormous effort, reached the top of the tower. One of the quitters approached him to ask him how he had done it, to finish the race. And discovered that he... was deaf! Never listen to people who have the bad habit of being negative... because they steal the best aspirations of your heart! Always remind yourself of the power of the words that we hear or read - always think positive!
Conclusion: Always be deaf to someone who tells you that you can't and won't achieve your goals or make come true your dreams.
People have always been intrested in breaking records. There was once several men who fought about beating a world records in running. Then there was a "expert". He said that mankind could not run faster because we were not build to run that fast, it would be impossible, against the laws of nature. So non of these men broke this record. Many decades later a man DID break this record. When he did he proved that expert wrong, and suddenly all men broke the old record too, just like that. Because now they knew they could. Silly, isn't it?

Thank you for this! This is so empowering, especially to a student who's taking a lot of difficult classes. This inspires me to try harder with all of the things I've been told I'm bad at, and to not blame my being bad at math on what my doctor called "math dislexia".
Really and truly great. Have I told you how awesome you are yet?

So inspirational~ That is how I live ^-^ I am always as positive as I cnan be, and I find when I start slipping like that, I just eat a piece of candy(just one, more will be bad) or I sew a plushie, or knit or something to distract myself and be creative at the same time and I usually feel much better!

I think I'm a bit like that sometimes. I would never cut myself or something like that but sometimes I get sad even though the thing I'm sad about isn't a big deal. Over sensitive perhaps, or maybe the dark swedish winter is going mean on me. But I personally know about it so it isn't really a problem anymore. Exercise is with no doubt the best solution when feeling depressed. You start feeling both physically and mentally good. If you don't do anything like that try different things and find the special thing that YOU like! Mine is dancing

I hope so too. Hopefully, if we could just open their eyes a little, they will reach insight.
