I'm new to the blog thing and I need help. I'm a little confused on what does what. How do I make it look cute?

I know alot of you guys have amazing looking blogs. How did you start out? 

AW! Designing blogs is so much fun! ... until you see someone that have a better blog-design than yourself T_T makes me moody and jealous - but happy for them!

When it comes to blogdesign, i don't really know how you mean! People think about the word 'cute' differently! I like to make it more .. ugly-cute, or .. well, check it out yourself!  http://helloprettiful.blogspot.com/ ^w^ I did my header my hand .... a few month before actually making a blog!

But I gotta say, I love you blogname, sounds adorable! :>

It's not bad at all. To personalize it though, you could add some widgets to it. I like to add polls, blog lists, links to other sites, images, etc. It just takes time and tinkering around with the site until you get it all figured out.

it's all about taste :) with my own blog i chose a theme from blogger and i changed the width a little to fit my needs better. then i added my own backgroud and a lot of gadgets and stuff whom i can fill with text or pictures as i like :) blogger had a lot of gadgets to chose from :) Many people have cute headers too :) I don't have a header yet ^^ I removed it long ago and never got a new one ^^'

background, header and gadgets are the easy way to start :)

oh.. they're probably called widgets, not gadgets, like roze said ^^' my bad ^^'

Thank you guys so much! I plan to work on it a little everyday when I can. But thanks for helping me where to start. Now I'm not that over whelmed.

I set up my blog using one of the basic templates and building over that. I picked a background I liked and created my banner and a lot of the other image elements using the same background image, so that everything would match. I also stuck to one color scheme that was based on the background image. 

Personally, I prefer to have a wide center column, because it gives enough space for good-sized photos. 

I also like to have small "banners" for regular features on my blog, so that it has more of a "series" feel to it. 

Also, do not underestimate the value of white space!! Don't crowd things together on your blog! It's very hard on your readers' eyes and gives a blog a confused, hectic feeling.

I used a basic template, then changed the background to fit the theme of my blog(it's not my own, it's one from blogger.)

Changed the width of the blog.

Added another column.

Made a simple header.
