People who are actually into fashion aren't really the ones showing off skin though. It's the teenage girls and Americans who just wear the same slutty crap their friends do because they want to "fit in" and have guys find them hot. That's not fashion, those girls don't even count.

Um, Americans?

I say Americans because I see it more here than I did anywhere else. I'm sure girls all over the world fall victim to this sort of mentality though.

^Before any americans flip out on this poor girl, yes, it is true.
americans defiantly have this slutty fashion way more than any where else.
And I'm American, lived here all my life, and have studied other countrys, and my sister has been to germany and agree how different they are.
I'm ashamed sometimes to be part of this culture out here>.<

It's ironic that less than 50 years ago, showing skin was groundbreaking and innovative. Now, it's all been done before, so fashion has to find a way to push boundaries in the modern world. I think the fact that we live in a much more sexually liberated society now than 30-40 years ago is mostly to blame. It's encouraged for people to ooze sex appeal at any opportunity because now sex is encouraged as the norm rather than looked down upon. Not just fashion, but just about every product is advertised to us via sex appeal. Most of us have been raised in a sexually encouraging environment and it affects how we interact with other human being, including how we present ourselves visually.

Actually, on this topic, the fam and I went to the mall yesterday and the place was crawling with chicks wearing two-inch booty shorts... After a while I turned to my sister and said "What is this, take your slut shorts to the mall day?". It was pretty ridiculous...

Seriously!! I live in So-Cal and sooo many girls are into clubbing, and not only that but they basically wear clubbing clothes on a daily basis and I'm like, really?! Who are you trying to pick up? Go ahead and wear your tight-basically half naked outfits- to clubs with all the others, but if you are going out in public (especially in areas where there could be kids around) why must you wear the same type of clothing?

I remember last year when I went to visit my old high school I saw a girl wearing a tight white dress with lots of cleavage and barely was long enough to cover her butt, and since it was white you can see her lingerie under! Her leopard print thong was so noticible I was wondering why did none of the staff do anything about it.. Oh and another time it was raining ALL DAY yet this one girl actually wore BOOTY shorts and a tight WHITE v-neck tee shirt and she was soaking wet and you can basically see her chest.. She was a 9th/10th grader ... What went on in her head when it was obviously raining before she even got to school?

Clubwear is called clubwear because it's meant to be worn at the club.

Ugh... That's so gross... I feel sorry for you having to see that on a regular basis. I mean, the chicks in my area are bad, but not that bad. I wouldn't even wear that in a club, let alone on the streets or in school!!! *sympethetic hug*
