Being copied?

I know imitation is the greatest form of flattery, but I just don't like being copied. It's sort of about how people perceive me. With an "alternative" style, when there are a bunch of copies walking around, it's a "trend," and it's just one of those teenage things where everyone's trying t be different, but, surprise! They all look the same. And it's not about a trend for me, and desperately wanting to stand out, but being generic, and part of the crowd isn't something I like either, so I don't want people trying to look like me, because it pretty much destroys the whole thing. It's a delicate balance.

So, when there's a certain thing I always do, it irritates me when other people copy it.

That was long. So how do you guys feel about being copied?

I'm a masterful mystical maniac.

I hated it when I was younger, but now I don't get copied so I'm not bothered by it. But I will always dislike people who cannot use their own brain and have to copy others.

When I was younger I used to go mental if somebody copied me. I don't mind so much now but I think if somebody copies people a lot it is a sign that they are either insecure or lack creativity. It is very hard getting to know the real somebody if they are constantly copying other people.

I was never really trendy, so I was the annoying one doing the copying.

I've never really been copied before. I think my look is so varied someone else could never really keep up.

I absolutely hate being copied. Mostly because, it seems to me at least, that it's the popular people that make fun of me for wearing something who turn right around and do whatever it was I was doing in the first place. Key difference: it's cool when they do it, but I'm a freak either way. X( My sister's worse though. She'll actually stop doing what she likes because other people are starting to do it. The feather-in-hair trend? She was doing that ages ago and used to get made fun of for doing it and now everyone is. *sigh* Oh well, guss that's the end of my rant! XD

I have a couple of girls that are a bit younger than me (one's 20 and the other is 16) that keep trying to copy my look. I think its kind of cute, they're trying to find themselves and they like my look enough to try and copy it. I don't dress like this to be "unique" I wear my clothes because I like them; I'm not going to get upset or change myself just because some one else tries to be like me.

Well I think everybody copies someones style. What makes it different is the spin we put on it. I think if you don't put a spin on it though, you are not having your own style.
