Because there doesn't seem to be a direct link to the Live Chat rules on the site, I thought I'd post them in a forum for all of you to read, you can therefore make comments below on some of the rules and discuss them and possibly make suggestions about them :D
The Live Chat Rules
1. No Spamming.
i.e No repetitive comments, no reposting of links to things like Youtube or other external sites. Keep posts on topic. If you continue to spam after being given a warning by the Chat Moderator, you will be silenced for a period of time. Continuous spamming will get you kicked out of the chat for a period of time, and any continuation of this results in your account being blocked from the site.
2. No Foul Language.
i.e. No Curse/swear words, no anti-religious or homophobic slurs or racial comments. Keep things friendly and inviting for other members and always be considerate to the fact that new members can appear at any time, so try to be a good representative of the MAF community. If you continue to use foul language after being cautioned by a Moderator you will be silenced for a period of time in the Chat, if the behaviour still continues you will be kicked out of the chat, and if foul language continues after that point, you will be removed from the site.
3. No ALL CAPS or StIcKy CaPs.
This rule is the most hard to understand of all of them, however it is in place because capitals are considered 'shouting' when it is on the internet and in IT, therefore we don't want to be shouting at each other in Chat so please keep the use of caps to a minimal. You can use them of course for abreviations such as 'LOL' or 'BRB', and even 'smilies' such as 'XD' However no blocks of text in complete caps, or sticky caps because this is hard for some people to read.
4. Do Not Post Private Information about Yourself.
This is for your own protection on chat, if you do wish to share information (as it is sometimes required on MAF for meetups and when selling goods) then please send your information over the message feature on the website. Posting Private information in the Live Chat aspect of the site can leave you exposed to fraud/hackers, as anyone can be watching the screen when you post that information at the time, so be careful. Never give out your MAF password to anyone, as they can abuse this, (to steal your activity points for example) or other information. Be careful. Actions will not always be taken out against you by the Moderator unless the type of information you disclose is particularly offensive to others, you will however be cautioned that what you are doing is not a good idea.
5. No Bullying.
Bullying is extremely serious and anyone who thinks they are being bullied at all on the site must report it straight away. I will monitor the chat as much as possible, but seeing as I am the only Live Chat moderator, I cannot be on every minute of the day, so please copy and paste the chat log (print screens are more preferable) and send it to me MitsuMallow and I will do what I can to help. Bullying on MAF could mean your account is banned. You have been warned.
6. No Advertising.
This rule is obvious. Advertising in the Live Chat will cause annoyance to the other members who simply want to chat, and we therefore request that all advertising is kept out of Live Chat. Advertising can get you silenced for a period of time, or kicked out of chat.
7. Respect One Another.
Treat everyone on MAF as you would want to be treated yourself, allow everyone to have their say in the conversation and be polite, greet people when they join the chat to make them feel welcome and most of all enjoy yourselves! I trust you all to be respectful because I have known this community for a long time now and all of you are lovely, so please don't let me down.
8. Follow the Rules given by the Moderator.
Please don't ignore me in Live Chat, especially if I am asking you to not do something, otherwise punishments will need to be used, and I really don't like doing that :3 So please be respectful of the rules and follow them accordingly, I will never shout at you, just remind you of what the rules are if you do something wrong and of course make sure it's a safe place for the other users.
9. Not Following the Rules can get you banned from the Chat or the Community.
Please don't forget to review the rules and regulations from time to time; we may change, edit, and/or modify it without prior notice.
