I'm a big fan of Mana since 2002. A friend showed my his picture and I thought "she" was really pretty and it doesn't disturbed me when she told me the "she" was a "he". He's kinda become my dreaming model. He soo into his character and masterized in so many artistic activities. I'm not playing instruments or doing musical stuff but I hope I could reach his talent for fashion design.

It might seem strange, since I'm a HUGE fan of Gothic Lolita, but I don't like a lot of the clothing in Mana's brand. It all looks very generic to me, stuff I could easily design and make myself for a lot less money. The prints (like the Cathedral one and that Gate print everyone seems to covet) really aren't that spectacular up close either.
It's way overpriced for what it is, but that's Mana for you.
And yes, you can buy it either through CDJapan or on EGL_comm_sales for some really awful resale prices.

I totally agree with you! Most of the dresses are pretty basic and I hear they aren't as well made as you'd think they would be for that price. The name Moi meme moitie is a pretty retarted name too. Moi meme means by myself, not alone, not myself, but like "I can do this by myself!" and moitie means a half or piece

I have heard that his French titles for things were kind of off...haha. Don't get me wrong, I do love Moi Dix Mois and I have been following Mana (I follow Kozi more, haha) ever since he left Malice Mizer, but Moi Dix Mois I heard means "Me ten months"...and I was confused at hearing that. I think there is meaning behind it, but when I first heard the meaning I was slightly confused.
I wonder why Mana doesn't release gorgeous clothing like the ones he wears in his photos (or at least something similiar). I just think that the stuff that he wears is much more beautiful than what he puts in his brand. I don't like when the gothic lolita dress has no sleeves, it just makes it look like an outing dress for a club or something...

I love the intricate, and very elegant design of the dress he is wearing in the above picture. When I heard he had a clothing line, I kind of exepected him to sell something like this....

But then you get this instead...
I don't mean to complain either....

yup, moi dix mois means me ten months, it makes no sense! And I definately agree that some of his stage outfits are much prettyer than the Moi meme moitie. Most lolita dresses without sleeves are meant to be worn without blouses underneath them. But I think some of them look just fine on their own, like this one. But that's just my oppinion of course ^^

Moi dix Mois means "my ten months" (or me, but Mana isn't exactly a brainiac in French) because in Japan they measure 10 months as the time that a child grows inside its mother, which, in the name, symbolizes the 'rebirth' of Mana's musical style. ^^ Cause you know, if you compare it to Malice Mizer its really different. The only song that has come out that really reminds me of Malice Mizer is Vestige. Anyway, I love Mana and I've been a devoted fan of his for a long time, so naturally I wear Moitié. Hence my username. XD I haven't been here in an eon though.... I live on Tumblr now. >___>

It doesn't matter to me one way or the other what people feel about Moi-meme-Moitie or Mana, but maybe it would be helpful to realize things within the proper context? Yeah it does seem a bit strange that he uses the term "Me" to describe everything of his, but since Moi-meme-Moitie and Moi dix Mois belong to him and are his own creations he can name them whatever he likes, right?
Actually I find Moi-meme-Moitie to be somewhat interesting. Seeing as the "Moi-meme" means "Myself" and Moitie is "half", if you wanted to give the name a full English translation it would turn into "Half of myself" which is quite fitting for the brand. Since Mana is big on dualistic concepts, especially for Moi-meme-Moitie (anyone can clearly see this from each GLB hes been in), I find it interesting for him to choose this name. Hes being able to represent the two sides of himself in every way possible, including the name of his brand.
Also, Mana is not the one who designs most Moitie items (He only designed a handful of things himself), and the reason why he chose to do Gothic Lolita over anything else is because it was already an established fashion that he could fuse his images with. He has admitted himself he didn't go into Moitie specifically to make lolita items -- he just didn't know how to express a fashion completely from scratch without any referencing guidelines.

Great response *___* Even though he went into Moitié with Lolita fashion just as a base idea, I think that it really suits him. Beforehand he was always pretty frilly in Malice Mizer and wore a lot of victorian era looking stuff, so Gothic Lolita was definitely a good starting point. I'm glad there is also an aristocrat line, and I REALLY love a lot of the more mature pieces, such as the long OPs. The ones that are practically floor length are sooo beautiful and elegant.
Truth be told, a lot of Lolitas dislike Moitié, because they are looking at it from the viewpoint of a Lolita... when in fact I would moreso call Moitié.... Mana clothes...? Haha, I dunno. Moi dix Mois's concept turned into a furthering of the meaning of his 'half of myself' worldview, so I honestly think that while Moitié is classified as Lolita, it should be viewed a little more open-mindedly because it doesn't always fit the (somewhat overbearing) Lolita stereotype. I guess I just sometimes feel like there is more stress upon 'elegant gothic' than there is on 'lolita'.
