I am still a lolita beginner and I would like to know about your lolita fairytale. How did you find out about lolita and how did it all started?

I'm not a lolita, but my adoration for the style began after my first few tastes of Jrock. It really was Kana Moon who I saw as a loli first. I read a little article about her, which called he style "lolita," and looked it up from there, because the pictures of her featured on the site were so cute--her style is a visual kei - lolita mix, and I was gaping at how awesome it was. I thought, O_O, I want to dress like that. I'm pretty sure that's how it started for me, a few years ago actually. I'd love to dress like her still--it's not brand name lolita at all, it's definitely one of a kind, special-made clothing just for her, and you can tell that from the VK twist on it as well. I wouldn't call that a fairytale, even though Kana does look like she is out of one with her cute panda or bunny stuffed animals, soft makeup, and pastel pretty wigs to match. -^_^-

I think I found lolita through Kana Moon as well. But I really don't remember, it was such a long time ago ;; I met Kana Moon and thought she was so amazing in real life so she is one of my role models ♥ I've been dressing in lolita for...around 4-5 years now? I went to Japan and visisted Baby, the Stars Shine Bright shop and bought a dress. I think that visit made something fall in love with the lolita fashion. ヾ(〃゚ー゚〃)ノ

I learned about the style through being inspired by Harajuku, and Japan in general. Once I knew about it, i could recognize it, but i never thought I'd be dressing in lolita! Last year, i got really into it, discovering EGL, reading lots of loli communitys and websites, and before i knew it, i was making loli clothes and dressing up =)

My friends are big fans of anime and they found out about the style before I did. They said it'd look really cute on me and showed me a bunch of pictures, so I instantly fell in love with the style!

It all started with my obsession with anime! XD I was searching for cosplay shops online when I came across Cosmates. I saw that they had a section called "Gothic and Lolita Dresses". I didn't know what it was so I took a look and it was love at first sight!

I was already in love with anime, cute things, punk stuff and goth skirts when I found a link to Moi Meme Moities site on another internet community. And that's were it started. i immediately fell in love with their clothes, and at the same time I got a friend on the internet who were interested in Lolita, and then a girl started in my class who had a slight interest in the fashion too. Then I just ... read a lot about it. Googled for hours. o_o

Wow~ Let me see.....I think I found lolita in the spring of 8th grade. I saw an add for Kamikaze girls in shojo beat. I then begged my parents for the movie. xD When I first watched it, it was like time just suddently stopped. This was the fashion/lifestyle I had been looking for. I purchased my first dress from Btssb in the spring of my 9th grade year (well it actually a gift for my birthday...but I think we all get the point! XD) I'm now in 12th grade and still obsessed!

I found Lolita many years ago when I was just getting my love for anime//manga//Japanese fashion//and the like back (I went through a phase of liking nothing but ugly jeans and band t-shirts). I started to look into things more, see what fashion other cultures had... I of course got hooked on to Japan. Who wouldn't? I found many of the outfits to be goregous and colorful but then I saw Lolita. I was just coming into my girly-ness (which I now have full-on, slap in the face, cute obsessiveness disorder or as Dr Manda likes to call it COD) and I LOVED lolita. I thought it was just wonderful but, alas, I couldn't afford any of it. Now I am back, with some money on the way, and I want to give Lolita the good ol' Dr Manda try.

@honeylynn: kanon wakeshima is also my fave lolita. I actually met her at otakon and she was very lovely. My story: when I was 14 my korean friend who's in love with Japanese culture introduced me to the 'harajuku scene' but not really lolita. I was just browsing online and saw the 'lolita fashion' and it kind of gave me an interest but it was too expensive. I talked to one of my friends who was into Japanese culture and she was like 'lolita fashion is a very cute world but the girls can be pretty petty' ... but it didnt discourage me, as long as you know that you do what you love and you do not hurt others. I just started this year now with 7 dress, and hopefully more in the future.
