Hey guys! I have something to share with everyone, and I'm sorry to say, it's not beautiful. I think it ought to be said though, 'cause it might happen to you too.
The past month I've been having some issues with sensitive skin, and silly old me did what I've always done.
Make sure to wash properly, use a cleanser, put on a cortisone cream on any spots and then a moisturizer.
During daytime, if going out, I've used makeup to hide spots or anything else I've thought of as less pretty, but at home just day cream.
Sadly, this is probably the dumbest *beep* I've ever done.
See, it turns out this sensitive skin issue got worse. Now I'm diagnosed with Perioral dermatitis. This isn't a very common infection, and it's related to Rosacea.
This usually happens to women between 20 and 30 years old and can be very difficult to treat.
It's a type of inflammation in the tiny blood vessels in the face and it starts of as reddened skin and turns into small blisters that itch like a mother, and a terrible burning sensation in the skin. Luckily, it's not contagious.
It pops up seemingly without a reason, but is mainly caused by using a strong cortisone cream on the face, and can be caused and worsened by, read and marvel:
- Excessive washing
- Peeling
- Fragrant Soap
- Moisturizers
- Makeup
- Warmth
- Sunlight
- Cold
- Humidity
- Drought
- Alcohol
- Coffee
- Tea
- Hot soups
- Spices
Can't be arsed to make the list longer, but... yeah, you get the idea.
It's treated with antibiotics, but 90% of the time it gets worse before it gets better, and I *beep* you not, it gets a lot worse.
When you google-image this, most pictures look kinda nice compared to my face now.
So ladies, I'll take one for the team, just to get this info out to y'all.
Take care, and don't go overboard with the stuff you put on your face, especially if you're very pale, a redhead or have very sensitive skin to begin with.'Cause I can tell you, I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. It's just that horrible.
So, before putting your face through stuff, think twice. I didn't, and now I'll look like Freddy Kreuger for the following months.
