Best happening of the year: watching and helping my mother
recover from her colon cancer operation. We were all so scared that she wouldn´t make it after the operation, and when we heard that she was going to need chemotheraphy it was devastating...., but we managed to group together as a family and go forward resolutely.
This even forced me to grow up and take on a burden and responsabilities I thought I was unprepared for--and in the end, I realized that I pretty much was (and realized it didn´t matter if I wasn´t anyway, because I *had* to do it). I won´t say that this is a fully happy event, but the fact that my mom is still with us, and that they found out what was wrong with her body in time, and she is recovering, fills me with happiness.
Best news of the year: The doctor (in mid-december....a Christmas present!) saying that my mom´s chemotherapy seems to be working really well, and she
might get some of the medicines she has to take taken off in January, after she has some tests done.
It´d make her life so much easier if this happened and she had less nausea and other problems.
And now a bit more frivolous....or at least of a less serious note:
Best cosplay of the year: My golden Virgo armored cosplay. Even though I nearly died of exhaustion to make it in time. It was definitely quite an experience...both to make and to wear.
Best JSK buy of the year: My BTSSB reading kitties JSK in blue. I swear, the nicest colorway out of all of them is the blue one. And I have it. Hehehe.
Best skirt buy of the year: My IW Anette skirt, tall size green (Hehehehe, like Zeruda´s). Though I still would have liked to buy the JSK.
Best dish I learned to cook this year: Apparently, my Santa Fe Burrito Bake is brag-worthy.
My family boasts of it to friends. I also learned how to make Maria-style (XD My style) meatballs in green pepper sauce that make my bother drool.
