I want to try a gyaru look, but I'm not quite sure how to do it. Any suggestions?

There are lots of tutorials online that could help, I think the best way to learn how to do it is just to try and change what you don't like. I think this is really cute and simple, you don't really need to have any special makeup. Here is me wearing an even further simplified version, just skip the false eyelashes. Of course that makes it a less bold gyaru look but if you don't know where to start it's a super easy beginning point. You can also see here I've adjusted where the cat eye is placed since I think it makes my eyes look bigger then how it's done in the tutorial. You just need to play around until you find something you like. You also might want to invest in some white eyeliner for your waterline, its a gyaru staple haha. Sorry I can't be of much help. I haven't done much in terms of gyaru.

I think the best way to learn the make up style is to take a look at the magazines like egg, ageha (best make up IMO) etc. They always feature easy tutorials. You can read them online, but I don't know if it's ok if I post a site with scans here? In my opinion the key to really good gyaru make up are false lashes. Also bottom lashes, they really make a great difference! There are certain types of falsies that fit the style very well, and others..not so much.

@eevee I've had white eyeliner for a while, I just don't know what to do with it. I'm hopeless when it comes to make up. I don't even wear chapstick! But I've been wanting to at least learn

Falsies have recently been pretty staple in gyaru make-up. Usually you would see the occasional long lashes with mascara, but I think recently falsies are becoming a lot more common with gals especially with the recent Diamond Lash hype. Also, as it had been said by Ragrunzel, bottom falsies are also becoming pretty trendy (・w・)
Now it also depends what kind of look you want to go for. I'll post a few pictures here so you can decide what kind of look you really like:
There are lots more, but I think this variety should suffice for now. If you would like, I have tutorials here that you can check out. Or ~~ I would be more than happy to make a tutorial of one of these looks for you!~ (・w・)

Wow! So kawaii! I'm really digging the second one. I was wondering if you had a tutorial for dotting your lashes like that? I've tried and failed many times.
