I have only watched the movies but all of my girl cousins are so inlove with the books?  Has anyone read the books?

i have read the whole saga..
uhmm at first im really addicted to it and got hooked and carried away with the fad..
but then theres nothing really that wonderful about the story.. if edward wasnt a character there guess it wouldnt be that well known..
and another thing i didnt liked the ending ^^ haha

ive read all the books (ADDICTIVE!!!) i saw PART of the first movie but i didnt really like it, i havent seen new moon but i WANT to, even IF its just for Taylor Lautner ;) lol

I read the first book in 2005, within the first few weeks of it coming out. I was addicted to vampire, shape shifter, and witch books at the time and was reading a lot of Amelia Atwater Rhodes. I was getting tired of her writing style and somewhere on an end cap in the young adult section was a new release, Twilight. I opened the book, read the first page, and got the book. I needed another vampire book anyways. I have read every Twilight Saga book and her other book (about "aliens"). So, yes, I have read all of the books but it's nothing amazing. I never was really part of the craze. I will read her books because I have read the others but when trying to read them gives me a headache, I will stop. Her books are decent but they are nothing to be obsessively in love with. A good book, that's something to be obsessively in love with.
Also, warning, even if the book has won various awards- it doesn't mean it is good. I read 13 Reasons and the book was foul. The idea was good but the book itself was no good. I just hated it. -.-
Anyone have a good book? I do, A Great and Terrible Beauty series, now that should have a movie! It's WONDERFUL. WELL WRITTEN. EVERYTHING. It's one of my favorite books. Check it out. >3

i have all four. i have them because i have sort of an obsession with vampire novels. XD i enjoyed reading them, but i think its more of a romance novel with fantasy undertones. but that doesn't make edward less dreamy.. uh, well, because he is just a dream. XD

I guess I'm a vampire nut, but I've read all 4 books (and watched both movies), liked them at first, but I hope to god the writer doesn't come out with book 5 from Edward's point of view. I'm sorry, but when I was reading the books and watching the movies, I just hated the portrayal of vampires, they're weak and stupid. "Don't under-estimate Victoria" he said seriously. Edward says "It couldn't be Victoria, she's not THAT skilled" and the Cullen family agrees, while the 16 year old Bella figures it all out before they do. vampire Daauuurrrr.... lol, they're the most retarded vampires I've ever read about. Anne Rice(writer of Queen of the Damned and Interview with a Vampire) may be boring, but at least she's not insulting to their intellect.  >.>

Other than the few other plot fails, it's a decent series that I would promote reading. Pardon the rant... I'm also jealous of the story and wish it could happen to me. >_> Darn romance squishy gaga awesomeness. lol X)

I read one. All I needed to read to understand how awful it is. Pathetic nondescript girl with this supposed "Hot" sparkly vampire, and it's really silly. But... I suppose that it's well written... It just depends on your taste in books. I think the target audience is 12-14 year old girls, though.

anne rice is a different category altogether with twilight. i know that her books are rather slow, but they are incredibly worth your time. and i do agree, vampires are supposed to be quick to understand situations.
