What are your favorite holiday music albums?

A Charlie Brown Christmas -- this is a classic by far.  Like all of Charlie Brown  cartoons, it was recorded by the wonderful Vince Guaraldi Trio.    These Jazz tunes just always makes me think of my childhood

 

Now another album I really like is David Arkenstone's Christmas Lounge

This album is a BIG turn from David Arkenstone's new-age fantasy style which he has been doing for years.  He breaks into the chill-out lounge  genere with this awesome album.  It is cool and groovy, and I find myself listening to it all year long!!

This year I treated myself and got David Arkenstone's Visions of Christmas which is more his traditional style of music.  The song Snowdance is beautiful... and my favorite.  But this song, Angles in the Snow, is also on the album.  He also has some traditional christmas tune too

Ok, I can't mention Christmas Albums without mentioning Kenny G Miracles.  My Mom is a HUGE Kenny G fan and it annoyed the rest of my family.  My brother really really disliked hearing this music time and time again.   Well fast forward 10 years... and what CD does my mom send me???   Kenny G Miracles. I screamed when I opened.  Despite the fact that I hated this album as a teen,  I make it a point to listen to this album every year.  Looking back I am happy mom sent it to me, because it will always remind me of her.  Being SO FAR AWAY from my family made it better.  So I don't mind listening to it anymore...

Last but not least... just today I got the GLEE CHRISTMAS ALBUM!  Oh I love GLEE, and I HAD to get it!  This is a nice peppy album, and I am soooooo LOOKING FORWARD to seeing the christmas episode next week!

but it's by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

I had a chemistry teacher who decided to play it during my junior year of Highschool. I fell in love instantly.

My favorite track is probably Carol of the Bells
