I love VK but i think unless you're asian it's veryyyy hard to pull off =[

i honestly think that the hard part in pulling vk off is due to lack of a sparkly sparkly stage (where you also can play the role more naturally than out buying milk in the supermarket) and great promo-photos, other than etnicity. i've seen some of my fav asian vk-musicians look like cr*p offstage with "normal"/or daytime light. especially when the pictures are taken head on. :s
|
I dont think you have to be asian to pull off the VK look. I've seen some great non asian vk outfits lol
|
yup. and then i think (this is going to be hard for me explaining in englishuuh ) that vk isnt AS popular for us mortalt beings to wear as lets say, lolita fashon is. (just take a look around maf ) leading off to not having as many "references", "how-to" n, ah.. don't want to say "rules", but i think i might go with that to get my point across.. uhm, ah. leading up to ppl not taking it as bloody-hardcore-serious as some amazing "spokepersons" for, ah, i'm going with this example again: lolita fashion. with the lolita fashion, i mean - you go and pick out socks or just hairclips/bands..thingys.. for just that ONE outfit, paying attention to every small detail which gonna get the whole thing to come together in the end, and (most often?) staying true to both the lolita fashion in general, as well as the sub-genre (be it kuro, sweet or whatever).
i agree with you, misfit mosher. i've also seen non asians pull it off (not many though, not saying that i've seen alot of non bandmemberASIANS vk-style that rocked my world either.. sometimes not even asian bandmembers vk XDD') with some serious OHHAWTDANG!- and every single one that I'VE seen have paid attention to detail and staying true to that ONE sub-genre of vk, or just.. not grabbing everything and all odd in their SCENE/emo-closet putting it together with something stolen from their dads 80's glamrock wardrobe..
vk is like every other fashion, i think. you've got to get down with it and really take some serious notice of detail and not underestimate the fashion. i mean, in my mind. a great vk-style is as hard to get right as a really awsome decora-outfit.

Oooh... I get the feeling I'm going to end up living in this thread... >.> So many awesome inspirations and member pictures. =3 LolitaButterfly, I absolutely love your hair! I've been thinking about cutting mine short as well, so it's nice to see I'm not the only one going for it. =]
ANWAY. Though most of you probably know about h.NAOTO and such, I can't help but promote Ibi's line of clothing. ^.^' *PREPARE FOR PIC SPAM =D*

(The other guy is Mint, another designer for Sixh.) I love his style so much. =3 I have a few items from his line, as well. But I can't purchase as much as I wish I could. So expensive. *sobs*

Very cool. I don't like wearing vk myself but it's so nice to look at. I love Ibi's green coloured hair. It's like the ocean 0_0 drool

I'm really starting to get into this gothic style :D I'm just afraid people will mistake me for the scene style.
