Steampunk is something I've been in love with for a long time, and unlike most styles is totally unpredictable. I mean almost anything goes in Steampunk which I am all for. Don't get me wrong, Lolita is my favorite fashion hands down. But there are so many things that a beginner lolita can get wrong if they don't do a lot of research on it.
Steampunk is a style, books, movies, it's music, it's decor, it's life!!! It doesn't have any definite rules or guidelines. You can make anything steampunk from computers to guns by adding any thing from wires, gears, pipes, and clocks. With steampunk it's the more creative you are the better, and that something I admire. Here are some of my favorite steampunk pictures-

Plus I just really Love goggles

I don't know about you But I feel that Steampunk guys are totally hot!

I'm totally digging Pullip's new steampunk dolls!!

People have told me that steampunk came out of lolita. I don't think thats entirely true. Maybe for girls clothing but more of the earlier steampunk fashions for woman are just Victorian fashion with corsets and petticoats, but not really lolita. It's easy to take a lolita dress and have it steampunk inspired. If there's a pirate lolita, why not a steampunk lolita?? Its just Alice and the Pirates with goggles and gears?? I can see people calling this 'cosplay' steampunk lolita but I think it's beautiful. What do you think??

I Will goth it up!

as a scifi fan I love steampunk, you can really use your imagination with this style.  I found these:

http://www.lip-service.com/handlers/browse.php?division=Collection&groupitem=StyleGroup&groupvalue=1431#sideba r-accordion-collection

alot of them are not very lolita but, they're still pretty awsome. (I bought the black harness dress)

Also, if anyone is interested, there will be a steampunk con here in Arizona in March of '11 :) it's the first steampunk con in the valley, and it's surprising that it took so long since, of course, this is the wild west x3 anywho, if you want anymore information, go here to their website: http://wildwildwestcon.com/

I don't think steampunk's origin is not at all from lolita, but the two styles are easily mixed. They come from the same era not eachother.
I really dig the steampunk look, the whole industrialized look with overly complex little gizmos.
It's like the past I wish really happened.

Those people who have told you that, are definitely wrong. Steampunk, like lolita, is just a fashion derived from the Victorian period (although Steampunk is more focused on the late 1800s at the dawn of the industrial revolution). Steampunk is why I live <3 <3 <3

I definitely love steampunk, it's one of my favorite fashions next to asian fashion! I've had a really great time trying to combine futuristic asian clothes and old victorian steam punk clothes :3
