Im interested in alot of other fashions par the Yamamba, lolita, decora, fairy kei and dolly kei i like the 1950s american pyschobilly and rockbilly and i was so happy to see a japanese cuture of rockabillys. I think this website is sometimes very much so mainly lolita, nothing wrong with that at all i love lolita, but i thought i'd bring a little bit of other underground asian fashions, for example japanese rockabilly, i really really  like it, just wondered what everyone else thought:)

It's really funny how cultures can take something from another and really make it their own. The Japanese rockabily are so different from their western counterpart but share a common source.
I like the huge hair, the really huge hair. Well I am too sleepy to actually make any other real comments.

It's funny and interesting to see we weren't the only culture to go through that. lol

This style was more prevalent in the late 80's and through the 90's, but it's still fairly popular. I enjoy it, too :3 I think it's cute, though the hair....oh man, that hair x3 hehehe

I just find it funny that the Japanese version of Rockabilly is so subdued and subtle, also very costumey. Most westerners in that genre of style go for the authentic not the Kitchsy. Not saying it's bad!  It's just really plain compared to most J-fashions.

I think the Rockabilly culture in Montreal is quite similar to that of Japan. Big hair, crazy outfits, thrashing around to concerts. I think the western Rockabilly culture places more emphasis on tattooes though as opposed to the Japanese.

I only make this comparison because when I lived in Montreal I had a friend who was really into that scene there and I got to see and hear a lot of their subculture, which was really cool. I'd like to see more of the Japanese Rockabilly scene when I go there though. That would be cool.

Haha, they are so funny!!  I am friends with a rockabilly, his name is Hidenori. I met him near a convenience store one day about 5 years ago, and I was very intimidated at first!

I thought to myself, because I saw his tattoo first, that he was YAKUZA!!! He must have seen how nervous I was and he caught me staring. He talked to me outside the store before I went home, and he told me he was not Yakuza, but he liked Rockabilly culture. I should have figure because of his hair. He showed me his motorbike, it was so cool! He did a dance too!
