I just got home from house sitting for my mom and coming home to my little messy house I realized I am NOT organized at all. A little sad since I've been living on my own for over a year. Now I'm cleaning and struggling to get organized.
So what are your ways to get organized? Could be anything really. I've started doing a few things...

- I bought a cook book and I'm making meal plans so I can cook food ahead of time. No more instant noodle dinners for me.
- I got a day planner to keep track of homework, study and test schedules.

... Hey it's early I can't think too hard. I was also thinking of going to the dollar store and finding some boxes for my craft stuff. I could decorate the boxes so I'd know exactly what was in them paint on the paint box, yarn on the crochet box, bead the bead box. Cute~

I totally love getting organized! I love the two thing you got started with! A calender is the key to success ;) And planning your food will save you a lot of money! My bf and i used to plan for one or two weeks a time, writing a list of what to eat for each day. Our food budget was much much lower then. We really need to get back to that...

Another thing you'll need is storage. Without being able to store and store your things it's impossible to keep organized. You can use boxes and baskets or whatever you feel like :) and put them on a shelf where you can easily get to them. Try avoid put several boxes on top of each other cus you'll end up annoyed when you need to get to the one in the bottom... Also try not to spread out thing you use together too much. Lets say your sewing stuff. If you have one box for lace, one for ribbons and one for fabric, avoid having one of the box in the bedroom, one in the hall and one in the livingroom :) Sort them as you use them :)

I looove being organized and you'll find me a big fan of tiny zipperbags for my craft :) This way i avoid ribbons getting tangled up and different sort of pearls to get mixed up. I don't have to look forever to find the right color of the pearl or i don't have to start my day solving a tangled up ribbon :)

I also put boxes in boxes. For instance, i have a lot of lace. And the box i keep them in is kinda big. So i have devided the laces into groups to find what i'm looking for easier. You can either use rubberband/ zipperbags/ smaller boxes as you like. I use different ways depending on what i'm sorting ^^

But the biggest key to keep it organized is to keep up with sorting it often. If you keep collecting ribbons in a faster speed than you get rid of them by using them to your project you will probably end up drowning in piles with boxes with ribbons. Make it easy for yourself. Get rid of everything that you haven't got any use for the latest year ^^

Those are such good tips.
I am going to go to a shop today and pick up a shelving unit and some little bags. I get especially mixed up with my beads and yarn... I always kick over my beads and tangle one yarn with another. I'm going to get some jars with good lids for the beads and a nice basket for my knitting supplies.

Keeping up with things may be a little tough for me. I'm the type of person who throws the clean clothes on the floor to fold later... and never does. Oh well time to be a grown up

I'm a kinda messy organized person. I do try my best. But I don't have the money to buy the things I need to organize. lol But I am trying. I'm slowing thowing things away, or finally starting on that project I said would be a good idea to start like 3 months ago.

But for me, it's works best if I organize what I'm going to do first on paper or in my head before I start.
I get easily sidetracked. lol

I love being organized much like Zeruda!

Though I've got much less craft-y stuff, I do pretty much the same things. I have a lot of crates and boxes and nooks to put each thing- books go in one spot, writing and school utinsels in another, accessories go in a different drawer, and even if I don't organize that nook out specifically, I try and put things back where I took them from. I usually organize each little area every few weeks/months because it becomes an eyesfore after awhile...

I'm a serious list-maker. Lists for EVERYTHING...I make things to do for the month on my calendar, things to do for the week in my planner, and things to do each day on my laptop sticky notes...and a list for my groceries and things I need...yeah.

I think that's about it...but the main rule my mom always taught me was "If you took something from somewhere, then put it back where it came from!"

My drill is the drill that will pierce the heavens!

I actually use the bottom of shoeboxes to sort my underwear in my drawers :) One for bras, one for socks, one for tights and so on :) I find it easier to keep it organized this way :)

Routines. for instance, i always lose my keys... and cellphone.. and wallet XD so i try make it a routine to always before i go to bed put these things on the table so i will find it in the morning without stressing.

And make sure every thing has it's place. The reason people won't find their keys is because the keys doesn't have a place. If you for instance have a hook where you always hang them every time you come home, it will be a lot easier, just make it a routin to hang them on the hook :)

I completely agree! I live in a dorm where it's very easy to lock oneself out and so my roommate and I put up hooks right next to the door. That way we can just hang our keys up when we get in and grab them as we're leaving. I always put my phone next to my bed and my wallet in a drawer n.n
