Annoying Tourists

Okay here you can post all the annoying things tourists have done or said to you.

I'll go first, this was something that happened to a friend of mine and it's taken directly from her blog:

"The same day me and four other girls went to buy some ice cream. We were tired after a long warm day of walkning and trying to outrun tourists taking our pictures and wanted some ice cream to cool us down and then just sit around and talk for a while or something.

Suddenly, out of nowhere comes a tiny redhead lady with a giant camera and starts taking pictures of us, without asking, of course. By now, we're getting sort of annoyed. She then walks up to us girls buying ice cream and says:
"I want to take your picture."
"Ok," a friend says, "but we're buying ice cream right now, can you hold on for a second?"
"No!", the lady declares angrily. "I want to take your picture now!"
"You'll have to wait" I say.
The lady starts snapping photos of us and we turn back to the ice cream-salesman.
"Look at me when I take your picture!" the lady yells.
I sigh, look back at her and roll my eyes.
"KEEP LOOKING AT ME!" the lady yells.

She then walks up to one of us girls who have started eating her ice cream and starts taking a couple of photos of her, pretty much pressing her camera up in her face.
"Could you please wait?", my friend asks. "I'm eating ice cream right now, I don't like being photographed when I eat."
"NO!" the lady shouts. "I have every right to take your picture."

The rest of the girls are now finished, and we start walking away. The lady stands in front of us and tells us to stay still.
"Now that you have dressed up in these costumes you really should let me take pictures of you", she says.
This really pissed us off. There are few quicker ways to piss a sweet lolita (http://lolita-handbook.livejournal.com/3035.html) off than telling her she's wearing a costume.

"You are obviously only doing this for the attention" the lady continues. "Then I can take as many pictures of you as I want."
"Absolutley not! We dress like this pretty much all the time, or at least a lot", I try to explain to the crazy lady. "I dress like this for school, for christs sake!"
"Yeah, well I ain't ever seen it before" the lady says.
"I've never seen you before either, but I don't terrorize you nor do I take your picture", I murmur and start heading away togheter with the other girls.

A young man comes up to us and tells us we're really pretty, and wonders if he can take a picture of us. We let him. The crazy lady yells:
"Why do you let him take your picture?"
"Because he asked", my friend says. "

And today when I was in Stockholm an old man started to take my picture, I who where in a really bad mood at the moment because I couldn't find where I was going, moved away from him. But he just followed me and kept taking pictures. I got more and more annoyed as I moved behind a pillar. But the man moved and kept taking my picture even though I said out loud "god I HATE when people take pictures without asking!" Then my brother moved and stod in his way so he couldn't take any more pictures, so he left.

I think it's totally disrespectful! Just because you dress different doesn't mean that people can treat us like living tourist attractions D:

I hate that people can't understand that we are people with feelings, we don't dress up just because we want the attention! We dress like this because we like it, and dressing like this doesn't give anyone any right to horass us by taking our photo!

It's so rude is unbelievable! I hate them so much I seriously wanna shoot them.

The worst part in this awful country is that it's LEGAL to take pictures of strangers, even if you tell them you do not approve, they still have the legal right to keep taking pictures of you and you can't do a god damn thing about it! They can do whatever they want with their bloody cameras! It's freaking crazy!

I have had sneaky pictures taken behind my back. I don't mind but I prefer to be asked. One woman looked absolutely horrified when she saw me and dragged her excited kid away from me. I think she thought I was taking photos for some sort of fetish website

The problem is that we stand out so much that I think tourists think this means we are asking to be photographed and approached. And it can get dangerous. I know people who have had up-skirt photos taken of them by tourists whilst they are wearing lolita. Nobody came over to help.

I honestly would have put my ice cream right into her camera lens. How rude was she!!! I get this at con's often and normally the ones that don't ask can be a little bit pervy. I don't mind at all if a circle has begun to emerge because I am already posing for other people so joining in is fine. Its when some random guy starts taking pictures of me and my pals when we are lying on the grass taking a break from it all that's annoying.

yeah, i think so too! If a person says no then it's NO. i can't believe how it can be okay. it's offending in every way. I REALLY wish i had Misa's eyes. Then I'd have their name and  report them to the police, even if they didn't commit a crime by taking the picture itself, they have still insult and offended me and that should be enough.

Haha me to! xD But it's so annoying that people can't understand that we aren't living tourist attractions that they can take pictures of and push around as they feel like, how would they feel if we started to do the same thing to them?

Well one time I took up my camera and started to take pictures of a guy that took pictures of me. He then stopped and walked away xD That wa fun ~~
