Fashion vs Style

Being fashionable is different from being stylish.

For me, if you're fashionable, it doesn't necessarily means that you're stylish. I define a fashionable person as someone who is in-the-know with the latest trends and of course, wears them. A stylish person, on the other hand, is someone who has a distinct way of dressing and who knows what works - and what does not - with their body, regardless of what's in or not.

What's your take on this?

I always thought they were the same thing, but now that you put it that way i guess you make a good point.

To be fashionable you just need to copy a outfit from a magazine while being stylish requires some skills to come up with something own. I guess it makes sense.

Yes, of course, not all people care if there's any difference at all. ^^

I'm just really interested in fashion and stuff like that, so I'm just curious as to how people from different cultures perceive fashion and style. :)

I think this is a good breakdown between the two. It is important to tryand have your own exclusive style that separates you from the rest of the crowd.

This is so true!
Many girls these days want to become designers because they, and they themselves say this, "I'm fashionable, I always know whats in,blah blah blah"
Well, fashion designers are STYLISH, not just FASHIONABLE.
You make a good point Kai09 : 3
