I was wondering if any of you ladies have ever purchased a petticoat from Bodyline?

What were your thoughts on them, were they any good, etc? Oh, and which one was it, if they still have it in stock? At the moment I can't really afford a more expensive one (all these damn concerts ) so I'm going to have to settle for either Bodyline or I'll have to trim the incredibly itchy one I wore with my prom dress to a more Lolita-friendly length.

Your help and opinions are appreciated!

I got a bodyline petticoat a while back and they are pretty good in the first couple wear about 2-4 times but afterwards they de-poof.  I heard from somewhere that you can use cornstarch to get them back to their poofiness.

Also, the one I got was about $11 (really cheap), so I don't think it was the best out of all but it was a great one to start.

here's how the poof looks like (when brand new)

Oh wow, thank you, that's a really big help!

It seems pretty good, and I guess for that price I could always buy two, just incase...

I´ve bought several of bodyline´s petticoats. I have...three, I think. All different models.

I  don´t think one petticoat has enough poof, at least if you buy the shorter models, which are a bit softer and therefore poof less.... I actually layer mine, putting on the stiffer and longer one I bought under the other two, and I get decent poof then.

Then again, I really like poofiness. If you can buy two, buy two. Better than to buy one and then realize you´d like the skirt to be poofier. And if one is enough for you, then you have 2 different ones to wear!

Thank you so much for your input (and sorry for the late reply)!

As it is, I've decided to just buy one petticoat from Bodyline and layer it with my old prom petti (to which I'm going to trim, dye black and add ruffles to the bottom) which already has some major poof of its own

I haven't been paid my EMA for the last few weeks for some reason, so I'm a bit too low on money right now to invest in an extra petti as well as the dress and blouse I want. I might even have to give up the blouse actually... I'm sure I can make do with one of my vintage ones.

Speaking of Bodyline dresses (sorry!) the sizing is a bit weird. Or maybe my sizing is a bit weird

The dress I want is

M
Bust 29.13"-36.22"
Waist 27.56"-34.65"

2L
Bust 32.28"-39.37"
Waist 30.71"-37.80"
But... I'm bust 35" and waist 24". I'm thinking the M size might be a bit uncomfortable around the top, and 2L is more practical for length anway (I'm stupidly tall I guess it is my measurements that are weird~).
So after all that confusing bit, I'm just wondering if you think Bodyline dresses are okay to modify a little? As in, to take in at the waist in my case?
Sorry for being a pain

It is always best to buy clothing in a larger size, then get it altered (by yourself or a professional) if necessary. Clothing can be made smaller easily, but not bigger. Oh, but beware of side zips, they creat difficulties during alterations.

I have yet to get a petticoat. I own many tutu skirts made by myself or my sister. One day I'll get around to making an actual petticoat, perhaps...

Oh I know, I am buying the larger size - as I said, it's more practical for the length, as 2L is 2.5" longer than M

I just meant is there anything in particular I should know about Bodyline dresses beforehand, such as the side zips you mentioned, etc?

Yeah I used to use a tutu that may mama made me for halloween a fair few years ago, but it never was as poofy as I've have liked (Oooh, you reminded me to put dye on my shopping list for today!)

Thanks for the input!
