DON'T GIVE UP!!!  Being a the key word in bf and gf is FRIEND.  The only way a relationship will work is if you're good friends before the "I like-like you" part.  Me and my bf of almost 8 magical months were pretty good friends for like a year-and-a-half before anything happened.  All of a sudden, when we were at a convention together (nerd romance) I realized that when I was around him, I felt really weird.  I felt like I didn't want to ever not be his friend.  Eventually, I developed romantic feelings for him.  After about a year of asking God if this was really His plan for me, things fell perfectly into place.  I don't know if you believe in God or anything, but I believe that faith is the glue that holds a relationship together.  But anyways, take things slow and have no fear!  If you're always nervous around your crush, how are you going to live with him if you two ever get married?

I was too late, he has a girlfriend now. thing is, i don't feel hurt seeing them together. so i guess i didn't really like him.

Go out on a date with him or just spend more quality time so you two can get to know each other more. In God's will, if you're really meant for each other then everything will fall in the right place.
