Ah! I'm not a fan of Yaoi but I have a question that has been unanswered for a long time. I wonder what you like about yaoi? What is great about it? I've never understood it and since many girls seem to like it there has to be some detail that I'm missing right? I'm just curious why people like it.

At first I'm not really into it. I just accidentally bought a DVD of it (no choice but to watch it) and I liked it.

Maybe because YAOI has a complicated plot. Typical love stories often end up with the couples being together. With YAOI, it's hard to guess what would they become, how long they could keep up with the society, and the envy they have for a girl-boy relationship (having e.i. having a child).

It may sound weird but I often have more thrills watching YAOI than a typical girl-boy relationship (but I like them too esp. if they end up with a tragic plot).

Hm yeah I think I understand a bit better now, if they are harder to predict how it will end and such. I like it when an anime is about a girl though so I can "put myself in her shoes" so to speak, so I might never start watching yaoi. But now I understand it better. Thank you!

First yaoi i read was loveless. I got a bit scared so i stopped reading it, haha ^^ 

(it was not male x male that scared me, more like man x very young boy that creeped me out :P)

Yeah,. I've read one with shotacon plot,. I'm shocked and traumatized,. (just kidding )

I actually heard a conversation like this over food in a resturuant ( spelling horrible I know ). My friend explained that the reason why girls are into yaoi is because you don't see a girl and think 'Oh it's competition'. When a girl is watching regular pRon, she sees the girl as a threat to the guy's attention, so when you see to guys forking at it there is no sight for competion.

I honestly don't know how true this is to most people. I just saw it as two hot guys going after eat other when I was in high school. Now since I've grown up a good couple o' years, I'm not into it as often. I just look at it and go 'oh, how cute they're pretty' and just move on.

I liked Junjou Romantica... at least the first five or so books I read of it. It was cute and everything but I am not a big fan of boyxboy, though I do like Yuri. xD I use to have tons of Yuri- it's usually just very cutesy. boyxboy ALWAYS has too much fornication. e___e
