No I haven't gone but I want to go sooo bad. Just to see all the neat shops and clothing stores and some of the crazy restaurants I've heard about. There's a restaurant that's made to look like a giant tree, and you take an elevator to go eat at the top of it. There's also one based entirely around toilets, which seems gross but fun all at the same time. *w*

:/ Sorry I probably didn't tell you anything useful. I'd imagine Harujuku would be the first place I'd go to, (par some real advice possibly. heheh sorry). Try reading the manga called "Japan Ai" by Aimee Major Steinberger. That gives some great ideas based on a real experience. ^_^

Ah, I want to go to Japan as well. Perhaps in a few years, my wish will be granted.

I want to go visit so many historical places...and many new fashionable places as well. I want to go to a maid café or a cosplay café....something like that. And, of course, go shopping for cute new clothes, including lolita clothes. Maybe even visit one of those famous hot springs? Hahaha, and I want to compare the speed of the famous Japanese Bullet Train with that of the AVEs we have here in Spain.....though really, from what I hear, there is no comparing their speeds....

I visited Japan with my best friend, her sister teaches english there and we went to visit her, we stayed mainly in the very small village that my friends sis lives in but its pretty close to kyoto so we went there on day trips as well as one to Hiroshima, we also stayed a few days in Tokyo and Osaka (we flew to Osaka airport instead of Tokyo cos it was cheaper).  I must admit the first night was hell, it was way too hot, I couldnt sleep, was trynig to adjust to Japan summer time and I shed a fair few tears thinking "why the hel ldid i come?"   but to be honest I hadnt slept in 48 hours (we left England at 9am and arrived in Japan 8am the next day) and my luggage had been left in Paris and I was stressed, apart from adjusting though it was amazing!  It was kinda weird walking around a small village where everyone stared at you because they just wern't used to seeing foreigners but still, in the bigger cities ou could guarantee someone would stop to talk to you and if you looked lost would ask if you needed help (I think they just wanted to test out their english) but ya, If you can get there I'd say go for it!  I had an amazing expirience and would recommend it to anyone, also do as much traditional stuff and see as many sites as you can, it just enriches the whole trip. xx

I would love to travel to japan! My cousin studied business over there. Once I master Japanese I want to go there.

Hello!  Sorry this is such a late reply.  I actually just came back from Japan about a week ago and it was beautiful.  I miss it so much!  The only part I didn't like about my visit was the plane rides.  Japan airlines is AMAZING but it's just too long of a flight.

 

I stayed in Okuwa Village, home to about 4300 people that only live on 4% of the land, with an awesome host family.  There were three daughters and we bonded instantly, just like sisters. :)  EVERYONE is so nice.  It is probably different in bigger cities like Tokyo but in small villages everyone is super friendly.

 

I stayed in Japan for a week but it was a free expenses trip.  I won a contest provided by the city.  See, Okuwa Village is my town's sister city and they send high school kids to Japan and Japanese students to my town every couple of years.  Only three people, including me, out of a class of 94 kids wrote an essay and completed a resume for the contest.  Only two could win but since they didn't want to say no to one person we all three got to go!  It was kind of weird sometimes because we were actually treated like celebrities.  We had interviews, were on the TV, photos, given flowers and sat with the mayor and drank green tea.  We also had an awesome teacher teach us shodo. :)
