So, for Otakon this year I plan on cosplaying as Nemu from Bleach. But I noticed something. Her shoes aren't the same as the other Shinigami. They're black with little heels these weird ankle straps. I thought I might be able to find them at a regular shoe store, but the closest things I could find were $95.

Does anyone know of anywhere that sells shoes like these?

Here are the best reference pictures I could find:

Thanks!

These are only 7.50$ :D Don't know if they are what you are looking for but they are the only ones that looked similar.

Oh snap! I just read the black part, you can always paint and alter shoes if you have to, more work but its worth it~ :D

How exactly does one paint straw I wonder? I think spray paint would just chip off...

Well, more than painting the sandals, I think that dipping them in a vat (XD OK, more like a small bucket) of dye would work better...never tried it, but it seems like it´d work better than paint, since if the color took (and straw seems like a materal that would really absorb dye) it wouldn´t chip off... but then they´d still be lacking a bit of heels...maybe you could glue a heel, made of cork or some sort of wood  (or plastic? o.O) onto the sandal? They don´t really have much of a noticeable heel anyway (or so it seems fom the pictures), so you might be able to forgo the heel altogether if you just stuck to modifying the color of the sandals....

I have never really had to modify a shoe for a cosplay....I guess I´ve been lucky so far... Good luck!

Hmmm, you could just make custom straps for sandals you already have

I think that's what I'm going to have to do.
