I'm pretty new to all of this, but I was just curious about something. Does anyone who wears the Punk stuff, do you guys make it or buy it? I found a website on eBay last night and it has so many cute clothes that I would LOVE to wear in the Punk category. Then I started to think of MAF and wondered if you guys either made your clothes, or if you bought them. If you buy them, where do you get them from?

If you have the means and talent to make them, then by all means, please do! And share piccies, of course!! hehe! however, there's no shame in buying them I buy most of my lolita and cosplay because, tho I know how to sew, I don't really have the time so whichever you wanna do, hun, and don't let any elite-ists tell you different

Before (like 2 years ago): I used to design my own accessories, add blings and patches on my outfits. It was so original and super cute. But it gets tiring sometimes to get inspired on what to do next. I do like making it but I have to be in super mood to make something. Currently: I buy almost every Japanese fashion I have. The accessories, dresses, tops, shoes... But sometimes I feel that I don't have that creativity anymore like before. Like, the passion for creating your own and showing it off to the world.

Well I got a sewing machine for Christmas ( cause I asked for it x3 ) so I can start working on my own cosplays. Right now I'm trying to do the Thief from the Disgaea 2 series. I would love to be able to make my own stuff, but right now I need to start working on smaller stuff. If I do get better at sewing and make something. You guys will be the first to see it!

The neat thing about punk fashion is theres alot you can make with very little sewing skill. I like to buy cheap clothes and customize them, hand sewing patches, cutting holes or new necklines, bleaching, attatching pins. It makes it even better if you dont do a good job, more thrashed! But theres no shame in buying, too! I always search DIY on ebay When I DID get a sewing machine (broke it a long time ago) the first thing I made was a skirt made of all ties. Might be a fun thing for you to try!

i agree with grrrlchild, the more thrashed the better! lol! ^^ i think everyone has offered awesome advice..... making clothes is fun, buying is fun too! as long as you are comfortable and luv what you're wearing, it will look wicked! i used to dress really punk {think sex pistols, 1977 } and i made a lot of the stuff i had because i didnt really have much money, but if i could afford it i would have bought some peices to add to my wardrobe! vivienne westwood's old designs rock my world! lol! anyway, its all about the way that you feel in your clothes that matters!

I agree with this, Punk is all about being original, I love buying clothes but I love seeing what people can create, I just wish I had that kind of aritistic ability.
