@LaiaMoon Yeah, I also think J.K Rowlings earlier HP books were better. Seventh were okay but I remember being very disappointed at the sixth. So disappointed that it took a long time for me to even dare to read the last one, because i was afraid it would ruin it all. It wasn't written with the same passion as before and almost no details. I was also very disappointed with the translator, lots of spelling mistakes. I think when you release that kind of famous book they really should read it through and check for spelling mistakes first.... -.- Oh. I remember another book I read like two years ago. Lolita. By Vladimir Nabokov. I just had to read it since it's a known subject whether out style is related to it or not. And I figured out it's not ^^ However it was still one of the most well-written books I have ever read. I also read a serie called Tales from Earthsea like one year ago. I decided to read it after seing Goro Miyazakis movie with the same name. (i loved the movie). The books were nothing like the movie but so I was confused at first, but then i decided to not compare with the movie. The books had a very interesting old language that you rarely see these days. I must admit i really miss that old fashion way of writing, I like the old books way better, these new books are all written the same way we speak. However, I didn't find the book especially enchantingly written however there were so many interesting characters in these books I still can't stop thinking about it. I think that is more between the lines than on the lines in this book and that really caught my heart. Also it's the most beautiful portray of dragons i have ever read about.

Here you go, the Wikipedia article is pretty clear. All you might want to know about 12 kingdoms and moreIt´s a really interesting series. It has both the novels and the anime--the anime is pretty good, though they´ve naturally changed a few things from the books (as most anime/movie adaptations do), and apparently the anime doesn´t show all of the stuff in all of the novels, but....yes, it´s great. I love the books. Hehehe, I´ve preordered the 4th novel, actually (it comes out on March 1st, this monday!)--I usually wait until something is released in paperback instead of hardcover, but this time I couldn´t wait. XD It´ll make me twitchy to see the harcover sitting amongst the paperbacks, but it´ll be worth it. It´s a sorta serious adventure with a historical feel to it. Maybe you could try to watch a bit of the anime first, see if you like it, and then check out the novels. I think you´d probably like it.

I don't really read much anymore. I just don't have the time, or I just haven't found anything I liked. When I get my own family though, I have vowed that I will read one of my favorite books of all times and that's the Chronicles of Narnia to my children like when my parents did for me. My favorite out of the Chronicles though is the Last Battle. Mostly because it ties all the books together. I actually did a book report on it when I was in the 8th grade and dressed up like the Prince lolz.

One of the best books I've ever read is actually a factual study book. It's called glädjerapporten in Swedish (transl. happiness report) written by Bosse Angelöw. I read this book because the media have such a dark view of the world and only report bad news. However the world should be focusing on how to make the world a better place and what could possibly be more inspiring than great news? So this book is a book about GOOD news in the world. I got happier and happier for every page i read. It's a lot of statistics about less murders, better education, better hygiene and how the life is getting better for many people in the world. Less poverty. It also contain inspirational stories about people going out in the world to do charity, vaccinate children, helping at orphanages and more. Everything in this book is based on fact, and the world is getting better even if the media likes to make us believe different. I don't think this book has been translated, unfortunately, but if you know Swedish you should read it, totally.

I like Harry Potter too.. and Anne of Green Gables :D also Song of the Lioness (quartet) the story was somewhat like mulan where she pretended to be a boy, but in this case bec she wanted to become a knight and not to another school where you learn how to be a proper lady or something. Theres also magic and of course adventure and romance ^^. Uhm Wake did caught my attention too. Is about a girl who can see through dreams or rather she gets sucked into other peoples dreams/nightmares.. and as of the moment Im reading Wondrous Strange.. Okay i dunno how to tell the story of this book but its an amazing one.. hehe Since its about fairies as well ^^ The lead character was kelley, a 17 yr old ~theater actress who went to NY to pursue his dream. Then he met this handsome stranger at the Central Park who happened to be a Janus (someone who guards the gate to the otherworld.. he is a mortal who was raised by the fairies).. and then strange things starts happening.. Like she saved a drowning horse 7 it followed her home and it wont get out of her bathtub. nex a huge dog (something that looked like a dog) attacked them... and so on..
