I've had loads of different colours *appart from green* but my hair is really dark naturally so would take a lot more effort to keep blonde than yours! you're quite lucky!
If you can do it without using peroxide i'd say go for it! just seriously don't over dye it :) especially if you're doing it yourself *if you're not phew* I learned that the hard way now my hair is horribly thin. I wish I had your hair so I could be pink again too T_T
