I've been interested in Japanese pop culture -- anime, drama, fashion -- for nearly 10 years :3 My favorite j-fashions are lolita, mori girl, dolly kei, and natural kei. I feel like they are all different interpretations of fairytale clothing. I have a soft spot for the sweet colors and sparkles of fairy kei too!

The method to remove photos from a flash slide doesn't always work, especially lately, because I think that companies are making it harder to do so (they probably are trying to stop people like us, haha.)
However, you also need a program called Adobe Flash, to be able to take out the individual image files.
What I've been doing lately is taking screenshots with a free program called "Screenhunter". What's nice is that instead of hitting "print screen" on your computer and then pasting into Paint, you can assign any key on your keyboard as the printscreen key, and select a folder for all the screenshots to go into. So, you can just hit the key and the screenshot will automatically save to that folder. No need for pasting in Paint and manually saving, etc. It's a very awesome program!
hey, I was wondering. would you pehaps share your secret with me on how to download a bunch of picture shown in flash? I've always taken screenshots, but this time the mag is 129 pages so I really need an easier way x_x I remember you said you figured it out with pink house website.

Hm, that's weird... it's unfortunate that you had that experience. But don't let it spoil your chance to make other lolita friends! There are a lot of other lolitas in New York. Maybe you can find some nicer people to make friends with than those 3~
My friend isn't a lolita. Actually, I've only met *one* lolita in my university (which is kind of a big university) and we never really got to know each other because and we had very different classes and stuff. And I didn't wear lolita at the time I was afraid that I would come off as someone who would just be fangirling over her outfits, because the first time I met her, I was like OMG YOU'RE A LOLITA! THAT IS SO COOL. I think she must have graduated by now too.
I wanted to see if I could organize some kind of on campus meetup, because who knows? there might be some lolitas on campus. But I'm just too busy right now with the start of the semster to deal with that right now.

No, it's not a problem. I'm half-Arab and half-Chinese.
I think that's my parents' (and one of my siblings') issue with the fashion. When I show my mom a picture from a GLB, sometimes she will say something "Oh, when are you going to grow up?" But to me, dressing prettily doesn't have to be restricted by age and who is to tell me what pretty is for my age group? :/
But I also noticed that I'm very desensitized to the "weirdness" of lolita, because I've been interested in it (and other Japanese fashions) for so long. So, when I look at a lolita dress, I don't see anything odd about it, the way most other people do.
